Songwriting Certification


Introduction

While SongU.com is not a traditional degree-oriented program, we do offer members the opportunity to apply for one or more of our SongU Certifications.  Each certification is geared toward a particular specialty.  Completion of the certification program demonstrates exemplary knowledge of the subject area.  Members who complete the certification requirements will receive, upon review, a certificate suitable for framing.

To become a SongU Certified Lyricist, you must have completed the following courses and practicums: *

FDBK 300 The Writer's Group: Feedback Workshop 1
ELECTIVES Choose 2 from the following:  BUS 220, LYR 220, SONG 110, SONG 115, TECH 110
PRACTICUM Successful participation in at least one co-writing challenge (song posted).
PRACTICUM At least one song selected by songpluggers for our street pitches in "My Pitching" or receiving a note of interest from one of our music industry guests for a Fast-Track pitch (co-written songs allowed).
