- Ed Ramsey whose song, "You Can
Depend On Me" was one of the finalists in the International
Songwriting Contest (ISC)
- Janella Landis who was a
finalist in the lyric only category for "The Song Of The Year" contest
- Shelley Jacobson whose song,
"You're That To Me" was a finalist in the CMT/NSAI songwriting contest
- Shelley Miller, whose song,
"Every Day Shine" (co-written with Karen Stockwell), was the winner in
the "Fantasy & Imagination" category of the Fall 2003 "A Call To Arts
Song and Music Contest"
- Steve Christopher and Sue
Fabisch, who along with co-writer David Rivers were the first place
winner in the Country category of the USA Songwriting Contest for their
song, "Tomorrow Tonight" (out of 34,000 entries)
- Jeanine Lasky whose song, "The
Innocence of Youth," was the grand prize winner in the Dream Power song
competition sponsored by Yoko Ono and George Martin
...signed publishing contracts or had their songs recorded, including:
- Kathe Beaver for recently
signing a single song agreement SDB music
- Rudy Spivey for signing two of
his songs, "Memories Become Treasures Of Gold" and "My Halloween Queen"
with music publisher TeeCee Music
- Doug Brzak on signing a single
song contract with Faverette Music Group
- Robb Bledsoe whose song,
"Because I Love You," was signed by Lawrence "LL" Wilson, a successful
R&B musician based out of St. Louis who will be recording the song for
his upcoming CD
- Jane Godfrey whose song, "Thank
You Ms. Juliette" was recently featured on the Girl Scouts of America CD
- Robb Bledsoe, whose song
"Children, A Gift From Heaven" was recently recorded for an album to
support an effort to feed the children in a Mexican community
- Becky Horton who had one of her
songs recorded for the Knoxville Songbird Cafe album
- Liz Axford who had two of her
songs, "Who's Been Playing With the Jukebox?" and "It's Not Like We
Never Drove Through Texas" recorded by artist Susanne Holm
- Shelley Miller whose recording
of "Morning Somewhere" (a song she wrote in one of her SongU classes),
is going to be featured on Waterbug Records' upcoming folk sampler CD
- Lorna Flowers who got a cut with
an R&B band in Philadelphia for her song "Don't Let Go" and also got a
cut with her song, "Who's Gonna Hold Me" with John McCrane (who won Best
Album and Best Song at the 2003 UK Radio Awards)
- Pam Gibson and Shelley
Jacobson who were paired up for the SongU.com Spring Fling Challenge.
They not only co-wrote a song together but got it recorded on a
compilation Blues CD with several prestigious Blues Artists, including
John Lee Hooker
...received airplay and had charting songs, including:
- Brett Allen Morgan whose song,
"Daddy Can We Do That Again," was recently featured on the nationally
syndicated Radio Lia Show in the 15 seconds of Fame spot
- Lorna Flowers whose song, "I
Could Almost Hear The Tears" co-written with Steven McClintock was #1 on
the UK Country Charts
- Joe Leathers (also a signed Curb staffwriter),
whose song, "Kissin' Whiskey" (co-written with Chuck Allen Floyd) was
one of the finalists for WSM radio Nashville Merle Haggard Song Search
- Shelley Jacobson whose song,
"Get Gone" went to #3 on the UK Country Charts
- Stan Swiniarski who was named
2004 NHCMA Songwriter of the Year for his song "Bud" which was singled
and charted on the Billboard Americana Chart
- Sue Fabisch whose new parody "I
Love These Carbs" was recently featured on the Dr. Demento show
following Weird Al Yankovich
- Steve Christopher whose song,
"The Avon Lady Song" (co-written with SongU member Sue Fabisch)
is being featured with Avon
- Paul Kacor whose single, "All
Alone On New Years Eve" went to #7 on the Country Chart in Canada
- Steve Christopher on his first
hit single, "Them That Don't Know" by the Jeff Treece Band going
to #7
on the CCM chart
- Lorna Flowers for her recent UK
hit song, "Slow Down For A While" (co-written with Bob Welch from
Fleetwood Mac and Sue James) which was nominated as BEST SINGLE for the
UK Country Radio Awards
