My cowriter had the idea of two characters getting lost at an old tavern called 'The Woodside Inn' but finding each other, and being grateful that the Woodside Inn brought them together.

Lyrics

VERSE ONE
Chasin’ what the night had waitin’
My license finally turned sideways
Rolled out of town in that old Dodge
Headed for city lights to celebrate
Took a wrong turn past the campground
To a road I wasn’t meant to find
Saw an old log tavern with a glowing window
Somethin' in those old walls called me inside

CHORUS

I got a little lost at the Woodland Inn
Backroad buzz straight to my head
Took my whole world for a spin
Was it the night or was it the whiskey?
Is there magic in these old poplar beams?
One wrong turn turned me right
Into what I mighta missed
When I got lost at the Woodland Inn

VERSE TWO

Way she walked was clear she wasn’t lost
And I didn’t miss a pretty/single step
Looked like the kinda luck you pray to find
Green eyes and lips a deep velvet red
She grinned when she saw me starin’
And I leaned in close to ask for her name
My heart skipped two beats as she whispered in my ear
Jukebox started playin' LoneStar’s Amazed

CHORUS

I got a little lost at the Woodland Inn
Backroad buzz straight to my head
Took my whole world for a spin
Was it the night or was it the whiskey?
Is there magic in these old poplar beams?
One wrong turn turned me right
Into what I mighta missed
When I got lost at the Woodland Inn

BRIDGE

I’d never want to miss what I found
At the Woodland Inn
OR
Every remember when starts somewhere
Ours started when we found ourselves

BREAKDOWN CHORUS

I got a little lost at the Woodland Inn
Backroad buzz straight to my head
Took my whole world for a spin
Was it the night or was it the whiskey?
Is there magic in these old poplar beams?
One wrong turn turned me right
Into what I mighta missed
When I got lost at the Woodland Inn
I got lost, I got lost, I got lost
At the Woodland Inn
Wouldn’t want to miss miss miss
What I found
(When I got lost) at the Woodland Inn
