He Crucified All Sin

VERSE 1
The crowds were pressing in, to watch the scene play out
Between two criminals, hung Jesus on the cross
Soldiers laughed at Him, and mocked the Chosen One
He prayed, “Father forgive them, they don’t know what they’ve done”

VERSE 2
Midday the sun went dark, the Father turned His back
The veil was torn in two, as Jesus breathed His last
All earth heaved and quaked, as the tombs were opened up
In awe the Captain cried out, “We’ve killed the Son of God”

CHORUS:
When Jesus said “It is finished”, He didn’t mean it was His end
The debt of sin was vanquished, Yes, He paid for every man
Through all His pain and anguish, He knew He’d rise again
When Jesus said ”It is finished”, He crucified all sin

VERSE 3
The guards had sealed the tomb, where His body was laid
But when the women showed up, the stone was rolled away
Angels greeted them, “Why look among the dead?
He’s gone, for He has risen, He did just as He said”

BRIDGE
It may have seemed like the darkest of days
But vict’ry was stirring inside of that grave
The breath of God could not be slayed
