She had to close her shop when the pandemic struck
And all her plans fell apart
But instead of growing bitter she stepped up to do her part
Sewing masks and gowns for the medical corps
Helping volunteers pull their share
Teaching others how to mend and make repairs

She gathers up whoever tumbles in the waves
Or falls in flames to the ground
Because it takes a wounded heart to heal a world upside down
She says “we’re tired, frayed, and frazzled at the short end of the rope
But it all comes down to this:
We are meant to stitch together every shred of hope there is”
