It's strange coming back here after all this time
This town's become something I hardly recognize
I drove past that old house out on Crescent Lane
There are sure a lot of memories there from my younger days

And the Whistle Stop used to be where we used to go for ice cream
After a big baseball game, we won it all back in 83
But they closed down since they opened up the Dairy Queen
With the drive through window, ain't that a shame?

Grocery story closed down, they got a Walmart now
That little corner coffee shop is now a used car lot
