1.	When I was a kid I saw tha girl next door playin'' in her back yard.
She had two little dogs on a leash an'' they was playin'' mighty hard.
Those dogs wuz so cute; they looked so fine. I wished that one of those puppies 
was mine.
So I walked on over and this is what I said to her:

 Chorus:	You gotta nice pair of puppies; I''ll bet it''s fun to play with them!
I like the way they jump up and down; they so soft and smooth and round.
Cute little noses stickin'' outta they face,
They wiggle an'' jiggle; flop all over the place.
You gotta nice pair of puppies; would you let me play with them?

2.	My father took me to a dog show to teach me ''bout all tha diff''rent breeds.
They was collies, an'' spaniels, an'' terriers, and such, just about any kinda dog you could see.
A lady with a pair of Pomeranians is really what caught my eye.
So, I walked on over an'' this is what I said to her:  (Chorus)

3.	Now there comes a time in every man''s life when he needs to watch what he say.
Let me tell you ''bout what happened to me, why, just tha other day.
I was in a bar, a kinda a swanky place; they was carpet and crystal all over da place,
When I saw this girl, and I knew right then she was tha kinda girl I''d like to know.

4.	She had long dark hair hangin'' down her back and the prettiest blue eyes.
She really filled out that sequined dress in a way that''d make most men sigh.
I had to meet her any way I could.  I walked right over to her and there I stood.
Now, I know it wasn''t really what I intended to say but this is what I said to her:  (Chorus)
