Livin’ My Life As a Cowboy

When I was young I used to dream about livin’ my life as a cowboy,
Ridin’ an’ ropin’, cussin’ an’ smokin’, wear jingly spurs an’ say, “How-dy”.
I’d pick out my horse from the ramuda. Train him my-self so I know he’ll be good.
Teach him some tricks to impress other people, work cattle like a good pony should.
But a cowboy’s life is a lonely life, ridin’ the range on his pony.
He works in the saddle from mornin’ ‘til dusk. A lot more chores than there’s money.
An’ it’s cold in the winter an’ hot in the summer. The sweat an’ dust makes his neck itch.
No one ever got rich by bein’ a cowboy an’ I guess that’s no way to live.
I’d ride into town of a Saturday evenin’; drink at the saloon an’ flirt with the girls.
Take one down to the Bijoux; see the movin’ picture, or to a dance an’ give her a whirl.
