Dear Song U Evaluator,
This lyric won 3rd place in American Songwriter Magazine's lyric contest. Mark wrote the lyric, I put music to it.
1. Do you feel this song would have more impact if a female sang it, rather than a male?
2. Do you feel the song is worthy of being professionally demoed? I usually have Larry Beaird, there in Nashville, do my demos.
Thank you for your suggestions and your advice.
Jeff
Lyrics:
You're Not the One Who's Losing You
You tell me I should forget you
Start a new life on my own
So now you're slipping off your ring
You're gonna cast that first stone
You swear the sun will still come up
I'll find someone new someday
And then my broken heart will heal
Well that's really not for you to say
You're not the one who's losing you
You're not the one who's wearing my shoes
You make it sound so simple to do
But you're not the one who's losing you
You're not the one who's losing you
I wish you could feel how it feels
Then you might give this one more try
'Cause I don't think I can make it
If I let you say goodbye
Still you claim you know me better
You're so sure I'll find my way
And time takes care of everything
Well that's really big of you to say
(Repeat Chorus)
You swear the sun will still come up
I'll find someone new someday
And then my broken heart will heal
Well that's really not for you to say
Repeat Chorus (twice)
