    Backstory:
This song came about at a Marc Alan Barnette workshop that was held in Green Bay, WI. I was teamed up with Mike Heath to cowrite a song. Mike had the title, but we couldn't figure out which direction to go with the song. After some time had passed, the storyline came to me. I shared my thoughts with Mike, we made some changes and, well, here it is.

    Lyrics:

DON’T TURN OFF THE LIGHT © Lisa Medill/ Mike Heath Friday night is here again Same two pillows, same old bed You're reading Harlequin Romance I'm watching reruns of Friends At eleven we'll share a good night kiss Babe we've gotta do more than this... (chorus) Don't turn off the light I want to look deep in your eyes And see heaven again Watch my fingers trace your face Drink in your beauty and grace I want to smell the sweet soft scent of your skin Oooh let's do this right Don't turn off the light When daylight finds us wrapped as one Waking with the rising sun I’ll turn to you and kiss your lips 'N whisper this is what I've missed Then I'll kiss you again and smile at you And see your love come shining through (chorus) (instrumental bridge) (1/2 chorus) Don't turn off the light I want to look deep in your eyes And see heaven again Oooh let's do this right Don't turn off the light Girl let's do this right Don't turn off the light (tag) When Friday night comes back again I’ll be holding my best friend...
