Backstory:
I made a trip up to Tennessee, and spent some time around Gatlinburg. It reminded me of my younger days in the mountains of Arizona. And it reminded me of the times my wife and I went camping in many places.
Lyrics:
By the Campfire
Oh Babe, today…you’re on my mind.
Let's run away…leave this world behind.
Go to that place…where we fell in love.
The beautiful lake…with the mountain above.
By the campfire.
We’ll steal some time…make it all ours,
Just yours and mine…under bright stars.
Smelling the scent…of sweet pine air.
Outside our tent…we’ll sit right there.
By the campfire.
(Chorus) We’ll hear the embers…pop and crack
While bright orange flames…take us back,
Fire has a magic…it truly seems
stirrin' those coals…is like stirrin’ our dreams.
By the campfire.
We can cuddle close…in the crispy night.
Just sit and toast…in the warm firelight.
I’ll see me there…in your shining eyes,
We’ll lose our cares…as little sparks rise.
By the campfire.
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge) What I’m thinking of…without a doubt,
Is that we’ll make love…before the fire burns out.
(Repeat Chorus)
(Tag) Oww Oww Yeah Yeah By the Campfire
