Lyrics:
V1
You said our story didn't matter
Well we listened to one another
Our voices rose above the chatter
We heard the call of a earth mother
Step aside were moving past you
It don't matter, no not any more
Soon you will be forgotten too
But our story will not be ignored
Chorus
You told us to stand down
We stood up, we stood up
You said you didn't care
We stood up, we stood up
We wiped each other's tears
We stood up
We stood up
We stood free
V2
No more careless politicians
Self-serving ones who cannot see
Respect for our traditions
They give permission to be free
(repeat second part of V1)
Step aside were moving past you
It don't matter, no not any more
Soon you'll be forgotten too
But our story will not be ignored
Chorus
You told us to stand down
We stood up, we stood up
You said you didn't care
We stood up, we stood up
We wiped each other's tears
We stood up
We stood up
We stood free
Dagada, Dagada
Chorus
You told us to stand down
We stood up, we stood up
You said you didn't care
We stood up, we stood up
We wiped each other's tears
We stood up
We stood up
We stood free
V3
We don't need your permission
We don't need your sympathy
You can’t support the mission
When you are too blind to see
Each one of us has a story
We only need to believe
That we can heal and bring the glory
And be a strong community
Dagada, Dagada
Chorus
You told us to stand down
We stood up, we stood up
You said you didn't care
We stood up, we stood up
We wiped each other's tears
We stood up
We stood up
We stood free
Dagada, dagada
Chorus
You told us to stand down
We stood up, we stood up
You said you didn't care
We stood up, we stood up
We wiped each other's tears
We stood up
We stood up
We stood free
Outro
One important one will listen
And soon there will be two or three
As we stand tall together
We don't need you to be free
Dagada, Dagada
Fade Out
You told us to stand down
We stood up
And now we stand for each other
One voice, one heart, one beat
Dagada, dagada
We stood free
Dagada, dagada
We stood free
Dagada, dagada
We stood free
Dagada, dagada
We stood free
