    Backstory:
Home Pride is a 'father/son" talk with an emphasis on the strength of the mother and how the person who should have been the "man of the house" has burdened his son with that title. This song is a fusion of LoFi Hip Hop (son, sung by Victor Sampson) and Country (Father, sung by William Sherry). This song was co-written by Clare Steffen, Victor Sampson, and William Sherry and is a part of the Round The Globe project.

    Lyrics:

Born poor, without no home and yet she’s proud of you Your mama’s proud of you Dad left and he didn’t come home She didn’t know what to do For your sister and you Chorus So many families  Left all alone But they still stay strong They make it on their own What does it take to make a home? And start anew You gotta change the view Too many on the street just roam It’s like a zoo What is their point of view? Prechorus (Lead in to prechorus).  But you were Born poor without no home And yet she’s proud of you Your mamas proud of you Chorus So many families Left all alone But they still stay strong They make it on their own A house ain’t no home But your mama knew  That she’d be proud of you It ain’t the place that’s home It’s ‘bout the point of view Your mama gave to you (Fade Out) Your mamas proud of youb You know she’s proud of you William’s Part V1 I'm sorry I couldn’t stay It wasn’t my plan to walk away Things aren’t always what they seem I still want you to dare to dream V2 Your mamma was stronger than I am But I want you to be a better man Your mama proud of you Son, I too am proud of you V3 Take the love mama gave to you And do all the things you wanna do I’m here now if you need a hand I’ll stay here ‘till you learn to stand Bridge Strong, and you can say it loud I made it and I’m proud Mama gave you a home So you would never feel alone Outro Your mamas proud of you I am so proud of you Stay strong, son  Your mamas proud of you
