Lyrics:
V1
Bootleggers, gamblers, and voodoo queens
Echos of ghosts from Beale Street
A mix of sounds, the Memphis scene
Delta Queen brought that beat
Bridge
Memphis sound will knock you off your feet
V2
Beginning with Delta Blues
Bending sound moving all around
Juke Joint hollering, fueled by booze
Country born, raised by city sounds
Bridge
Play me some country delta blues
Chorus
Traveling North, blue devil took hold
Urbanized and electrified
Traveling blues was big and bold
Fluid sound with a hard drive
Kansas City had horny jump blues
A mix and blend of music jive
In time it all began to fuse
Jazz and swing crossed over the miles
Bridge
Migration sounds, moving all around
Give me them traveling blues
V3
South to the North and East to the West
Spreading from country to city
In every form, it's passed the acid test
Music of the night, is always raw and gritty
Bridge
Migration sounds, moving all around
Give me them traveling blues
Chorus
Traveling North, blue devil took hold
Urbanized and electrified
Traveling blues was big and bold
Fluid sound with a hard drive
Kansas City had horny jump blues
A mix and blend of music jive
In time it all began to fuse
Jazz and swing crossed over the miles
Bridge
Migration sounds, moving all around
Give me them traveling blues
Outro
The sound of the blues remain
Nothing will ever be the same, baby
Just give me them traveling blues
Just give me them traveling blues
I’ve got them traveling blues
The sound of the blues remain
Give me them traveling blues
