He was a Patsy

Found Oswald in the Texas Theater
Roughed him up in his seat
Planted a pistol on him
Hauled him off like a dead beat
To the police station
Where they claimed he killed a cop
Despite all of the denials
The accusations didn't stop

He was a patsy, his only plea
A patsy his destiny
A patsy he'd never walk free
Was he an innocent man, someday we may see

Took him in the back room
Where they denied him all of his rights
They said he killed the president
Had their case wrapped up tight
When he asked for a lawyer
They lied right to his face
They were out to frame him
Labeled him a nut case

CHORUS

The cops said he'd fry in the Dallas electric chair
And there won't be anybody who'll even care

CHORUS

REPEAT CHORUS

TAG If we don't make this right
A patsy is all he'll be
