The Christmas tradition of the "Elf On The Shelf" is enjoyed by many families. This fun family song, co-written by Clare Steffen and William Sherry tells the full story of this tradition and is sung by Jessie M. (from Thailand). I also have a country version (with an altered voice) sung by William Sherry, and another female version (higher pitched vocals) with Yinshyen (from Malaysia).

Lyrics

V1
He arrives for the season
And is a sneaky little guy
Who has a way of teasin’
But he can be a bit shy

V2
He watches the children by day
Returns to the North Pole at night
And checks in with Santa to say
Who was naughty and nice

Chorus
Scout loves hide-and-seek
His name gives him magic
Use nice words when you speak
Share your Christmas wishes
Santa understands
And reads your notes and asks
We sprinkle cinnamon
At bedtime for Scout’s travel plans

V3
The spice makes the elf strong
So that he can fly to the Arctic
Scout is never gone very long
He returns after a visit with Saint Nick

V4
He’s a silly little elf
When up to his mischief
Likes to dance on the shelf
Because he’s filled with the spirit

Chorus
Scout loves hide-and-seek
His name gives him magic
Use nice words when you speak
Share your Christmas wishes
Santa understands
And reads our notes and asks
We sprinkle cinnamon
At bedtime for Scout’s travel plans

Fade Out
Maybe you’d like to adopt him
This Christmas Season
And receive a letter from Santa
As part of your tradition
