Backstory:

Wanted a partying, fun song.  My Friday is about getting ready for the weekend whether you have a traditional weekend or not.

The term "My Friday" is used a lot today.  It generally refers to when someone's weekend is other than a traditional Saturday/Sunday.  In essence, their "My Friday" may be on a tuesday.
