Backstory:
I dreamt about a guy waiting behind a wooden fence for the opportunity to shoot Kennedy. I woke up and wrote the lyrics and then the music.
Lyrics:
THE MAN BEHIND THE FENCE
Standing behind a wooden fence
Surrounded by a knoll of trees
Chose the spot carefully
So, he wouldn't be seen
Waiting on the motorcade
With murder on his mind
He'd been hired to do a job
Patiently biding his time
Calmly sighted in his rifle scope
To get the sharpest view
Satisfied he was ready
To start a deep state coup
This wouldn't be his first kill
Nor would it be his last
He just needed to hit his mark
And get away really fast
Oh the man behind the fence
Had evil running through his veins
He was there to get Kennedy
And plunge a nation into pain
The car turned round the corner
From Houston to Elm Street
It didn't take very long
For bullets to reach the backseat
Both Johns got ripped apart
And one man lost his life
Dethroned in but an instant
Set in motion years of strife
CHORUS
REPEAT CHORUS
