Backstory:
This song is about a couple who met in a bar after he spilled his drink over her and caused a bar fight! There is some homour with the rhyming of beer towel with `bowel`. How many writers have managed to get the word bowel into a song?!
Lyrics:
CHORUS 1
Rolling home, rolling home, rolling home to you
I could see I was meant to be Rolling home to you
VERSE 1
In the bar that night as I walked by, I spilled my drink all over you
Your clothes were soaked, & your friends provoked You turned the air all shades of blue
With a nearby beer towel, as clean as a bowel, I dabbed you to make it all right,
As you swore and cursed, our eyes immersed From carnage a flickering light
CHORUS 2 (AS CHORUS 1)
VERSE 2
When you had calmed down I sidled around, I said sorry and bought you a drink
Though sticky and damp and looking like a tramp Still dripping you gave me a wink
Now the pub it was rough and we`d soon had enough And started to head for the door
We found love that day as we made our way Through the hair and teeth on the floor
CHORUS 3 (AS CHORUS 1)
LEAD (OVER CHORUS CHORDS)
VERSE 3 (this is the quiet verse, drop some instruments out)
Now I`ve travelled the land, been too drunk to stand Been happy and angry and blue,
Whether wealthy or poor, or healthy or sore I`ll be rolling home to you
CHORUS 4 (KEY CHANGE G TO A)
Rolling home, rolling home, rolling home to you
I could see I was meant to be Rolling home to you
ENDING
Rolling home to you
Rolling home…………… to you
