    Backstory:
Being a songwriter can sometimes be like watching your children grow. You do your best, but only time can reveal what they are destined to become. I have always loved this lyric, but I was never satisfied with previous demos, so I have been writing, rewriting, re-producing, and re-demoing this for many years. Yesterday I think the Lord put His hand on my shoulder, and said "Let's finish this", and so we did. I believe this is what it has always meant to become. It just took time.

    Lyrics:

Through bitter tears she prayed, please help me Lord To face the truth and listen to my heart She tried leaving him not once, but twice before But never found the strength to get this far There was nothing said There was no goodbye Just a look to say what they had known so long She tried going once She tried going twice But this time she was going, going, gone Twice before she let old feelings for him Keep her on that train running out of track Till she couldn’t bear to wake up one more morning To another day of living in the past There was nothing said There was no goodbye Just a look to say what they had known so long She tried going once She tried going twice But this time she was going, going, gone Neither one of them was looking for a reason Why she should stay or where to lay the blame They just couldn’t make hearts feel what they weren’t feeling They just couldn’t make love burn where there’s no flame There was nothing said There was no goodbye Just a look to say what they had known so long She tried going once She tried going twice But this time she was going Yeah this time she was going This time she was going, going, gone
