IT IS FINISHED
It Is Finished
(Verse)
I didn't see you carry that cross
I didn't see you fall
Didn't see the blood you shed
No, I don't remember it at all
(Verse)
But, you saw my face
Long before my life began
And the times I'd let you down
Were written in your plan
(Chorus)
When You said "It is finished"
The debt was paid for me
Every sin I would carry
Died on Calvary
You held the power
To just walk away
Oh, but you didn't
Till it was finished that day
(Verse)
You bore our sins on that tree
As they crowned you in disgrace
Only love kept you there
As you took our place
And...
(Chorus)
(Refrain)
Finished, it was finished
Oh, it was finished, umm
Oh finished, it was finished
(Bridge)
Three days the stone was silent
Then an angel rolled it back
Doubters became believers
Death had met its match
(Breakdown chorus)
(Outro)
Only love kept you there
Yeah, only love kept you there
Till it was finished
Oh, oh, finished

COFFEE CUP (2)
TALKIN’ TO HIS COFFEE CUP
Ouu, ouuu
(Verse)
She hangs his cane on the diner coat rack, near her favorite corner booth
Even though she's alone, the waitress sets a place for two
She pours her a black coffee and one with a touch a' cream
Soon she's deep in conversation with someone only she can see
(Chorus)
She ain't crazy
She's just lonely
Oh, his memory
Keeps her company
Like he's still alive
Gets a twinkle in her eyes
Yeah, they light up
Talkin' to his coffee cup
(Verse)
She says, "Whatcha think about our grandson, he sure looks like you
Got your lovin’ eyes, smart as a whip and so darn cute
I've been smilin' at our pictures from the Carolina coast
And I swear you’re right there with me when I watch old videos”
(Chorus)
(Bridge)
They drove to that diner every Sunday after church
In that booth they called their own, he proposed to her
(Breakdown chorus)
(Outro)
Oh, you outta see her eyes light up
Talkin' to his coffee cup
Ohhh, talkin' to his coffee cup

HEART HEALER (DUET)
Heart Healer
(Verse)
You've got a burden weighing you down
Got a life you wanna turn around
You did some things, oh you can't take back
Got a trail of regrets you can't get past
(Pre-chorus)
In your mind’s eye, reach for His hand
Jesus is waiting, give Him a chance
Chorus
He's a heart healer
He's a worry stealer
The one redeemer
For us believers
Just a prayer away
When we come in faith
He's a sin forgiver
Ohh, He's a heart healer
(Verse)
He can break our chains that feel like steel
They can't be seen, but they sure are real
He holds the key to set us free
And lead you and me, oh, to victory
(Pre-chorus)
He came for those who need Him most
He's our light on a dark road, He's our hope
(Chorus)
(Instrumental)
(Breakdown chorus)
Ohh, He’s a heart healer, heart healer, heart healer, heart healer
Ohh, He's a heart healer

SOMETHIN' BOUT A BEACH
Somethin’ Bout A Beach
Horns are honkin', it's a traffic jam
Birds are flyin' from the drivers hands
My baby tells me, "boy be patient
We've got a little bit of heaven waiting"
A rainbow kite is flyin' high
A girl's bodyboardin' as we arrive
(Chorus)
Warm sand, cool Colada's
Worries fade with the waves in the sea
Can't wait to get there
Always hate to leave
There's peace in the salty breeze
There's somethin' bout a beach
Aw, somethin' bout a beach
We're Coppertoned, yeah the suns on fire
Busy chillin' to a sea gulls choir
Livin' in flip flops, ain't this the life
Para salin' through a clear blue sky
(Chorus)
It's like steppin' off a treadmill
The world slows down to a standstill
(Chorus)
Long kisses in the moonlight
Rollin' with the tide, we've got all night
Yeah, there's somethin' bout a beach
Yeah, there's somethin' bout a beach
Oh, somethin' bout a beach
Man, there's just somethin' bout a beach

HE DIDN'T COME FOR THE PERFECT (FEMALE)
He Didn’t Come For The Perfect
(Spoken)
Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but the sinners.”
(Verse)
She said, "I've broken every rule in the good book
I could be in the sinner’s hall of fame
It's been years since I've darkened a church door
Bottom line is I've been too ashamed"
(Verse)
I said, "You sound like a friend of Jesus
Bet he's up there waiting on your call
His pray line is open 24/7
He's right here to listen when we fall
(Chorus)
He didn't come for the perfect
No, not the angels or the saints
You and me are the lost sheep
He came to save
We're the chosen and blessed
Oh, the fallen and broken
His mercy never rests
He didn't come for the perfect
(Verse)
I said, "Friend I don't claim to have all the answers
I struggle with my troubles just like you
But, like Paul on the road to Demascus
The great forgiver finally broke through
(Pre chorus)
No, my eyes didn’t see a vision
But, my heart heard the truth…yeah
(Chorus)
(Bridge)
We're all sinners and we stumble
But, in the cross we place our faith
With his blood he paid our ransom
Salvation lies in His grace
(Breakdown chorus)
(Outro
Oh, His mercy never rests…. He didn't come for the perfect….ohhh, He didn’t come for the perfect…ohhh

WILD DAYS
In Our Wild Days
(Verse)
Yeah, it was our time...young guns in our prime
High school in the rear view, ohh, sweet summertime
Strawberry wine sippin' for the first time
Rope swingin', skinny dippin' kisses in the moonlight
Aw, talk about the good life
(Chorus)
When ev'ry night was Saturday
And the world belonged to us
Back roads were our expressway
And cool guys drove a truck
When our goal was raisin' hell
And 2AM wasn't late
Livin' life without a seat belt…
In our wild days
(Verse)
Writin' I love you on that water tower
Runnin' barefoot with that girl in a thunder shower
One night blue lights chased us 90 miles an hour
Lost him as the dust flew like a cloud of baby powder
Too bad the cop knew my dad…uhh
(Chorus)
(Bridge)
One guy ended up on Wall Street
Others married their first crush
Some still punch a clock
I'm still chasin' a dream singin' bout life and love
(Breakdown chorus)
(Outro)
Yeah, livin' life without a seat belt
In our wild days
Oh, in those wild summer days
Wild days, Oh

SHE BURNS LIKE BOURBON
She Burns Like Bourbon
(Verse)
Her kiss like smoke
Lights a fire in my soul
She don’t stay
Comes and goes like a ghost
(Pre-chorus)
All she leaves is an empty bed
And hungover mem’rys dancin’ in my head
(Chorus)
She burns like bourbon
Goes down smooth
Intoxicating
Kicks like a mule
I’ve tried to quit her
But, it ain't workin'
One things for certain
Umm, she burns like bourbon
(Verse)
A bad addiction
I can't get enough
Not sure what this is
But, hell it ain't love
(Pre-chorus)
Like a barmaid who serves a drunk
Keeps pourin' poison, won't shut me off
(Chorus)
(Instrumental)

THIS IS THE TURNING POINT
This Is The Turning Point
(Verse)
You tried to silence a man with a bullet
And thought his voice was done
Now Charlie’s torch has been passed
And it’s light is shining on
(Verse)
You bought the lies told about him
And chose hate over the truth
You're in your hell while he walks with Jesus
After the mountains he moved
(Chorus)
New believers are buyin' Bibles
Others are comin’ back to theirs
It's a flag wavin' revival
Smell of freedom's in the air
A common sense convention
Millions are lining up to join
You woke a sleeping giant
This is the turning point
(Verse)
He would have taken your questions
While you stood up at the mic
Heard you out, had a conversation
Woulda given you that right
(Chorus)
(Bridge)
Evil didn’t win
Charlie’s soul is still alive
His truth is marching on
And the cries of a widow echo like a battle cry
(Chorus)
(Outro)
Oh, you woke a sleeping giant
This is the turning point
Oh, this is the turning point

GIRL IN CHURCH
GIRL IN CHURCH
(VERSE)
I was sittin' at the end of a pew one Sunday morning
Trying to pray away my sins from the night before
Asking for salvation from a life headed nowhere
Beggin' God to open up a brand new door
(VERSE)
Bout then I felt a tap on my shoulder
Girl smiled and took a seat next to me
Our eyes locked for a moment that seemed like an hour
Till the music brought us both to our feet
(CHORUS)
And that girl in church sang like an angel
And when she hit the chorus of Amazing Grace
I felt like I'd been lifted straight up to heaven
And blessed with a power like I'd been saved
No, I'd never heard nothing on this earth
Like that girl in church
(VERSE)
I gathered myself as the preacher spoke
But, I couldn't hide the goose bumps on my skin
I tried hard not to stare at her long golden hair
While her sweet perfume was makin' my head spin
(CHORUS)
Yeah...
(BRIDGE)
Now, don't tell me that God don't answer prayers
Cause for two years ev'ry Sunday we've been holdin' hands right there
(BREAKDOWN CHORUS)
And that girl in church sings like an angel
And when she hits the chorus of Amazing Grace
I still feel like I've been lifted straight up to heaven
And blessed with a power like I've been saved
No, I've never heard nothing on this earth
Like my girl in church
Yeah, that's my girl in church
(OUTRO)
Oh, I'm so glad I met that girl in church
Oh yeah, that girl in church

HIT THE GROUND RUNNIN'
Hi The Ground Runnin'
Come on…let’s go!
(Verse)
When life trips me up...smacks me in the face
I don't give up...drop out of the race
I don't crawl into a corner feelin' sorry for myself
No, it only makes me stronger, makes me fight like hell
(Chorus)
It lights up my soul
Like a blazin' fire
My "look out world" grin
Gets a whole lot wider
We only go 'round once
And time waits for no one
So I lace 'em up
Get back on the track
And hit the ground runnin'
(Verse)
There was a time I'd settle for second place
But, life is too damn short...to play it safe
Now, I reach down a little deeper when I've got somethin' to prove
When they say, "It can't be done" man, that gives me the juice
(Chorus)
(Instrumental)
(½ Chorus)
Yeah, we only go 'round once
And time waits for no one
So I lace 'em up
Get back on the track
And hit the ground runnin'
(Outtro)
I lace ‘em up and hit the ground runnin'
Ohhh yeah, hit the ground runnin’
Runnin' --- END ---

SOMETIMES I DRINK ALONE
Sometimes I Drink Alone
V1
It don't happen every time
But girl it’s worth the try
Even the chance to see you’s worth the drive
I’m in Montgomery now
Traffics light and I’m headed south
With any luck I’ll be there by 5
I’ll do the same thing I always do
To try to find you
CHORUS
I’ll stop and buy two Ice cold beers
Walk down Miller County pier
Sit on the end and watch the setting sun
I’ll think about that goodbye kiss
From your cotton candy lips
How we lived a dozen summers in just one
Sometimes your memory joins me for a toast
Sometimes I drink alone
V2
Girl I don't even care
When people stop and stare
As I laugh and talk with someone they can’t see
I open your bud light can
Set it beside me and
I hope and pray this time you’ll come to me
When I get there I’ll do what I always do
To try to find you
(Chorus)
If you don’t show
I’ll drink em’ both
But, I’ll be back…and
(Chorus)
Sometimes I sit there talking to your ghost
And sometimes I drink alone

I'M IN A GOD PLACE (FEMALE)
God Place
Oh yeah
(Verse)
I don’t claim to be perfect
I’m just a better me
I’ve come home to what feeds my soul
Being the one He wants me to be…now
(Chorus)
I know what mercy feels like
Sweet surrender was all it took
I got lost 'round ev'ry dark corner
While dust grew on my Holy book
They say you can't fall off a floor
And that's where I found grace
I read His word like never before
Till I found myself in a God place
(Verse)
When temptation came to visit
My old self would just give in
Now, I make Satan's face turn to fire
Every time I turn from sin…and
(Chorus)
(Refrain)
I'm in a God place, God place, God place
Oh, God place, my holy God place
Oh
(Breakdown chorus)
*last line…”till I found myself in”…
(Outro)
Yeah, my safe space, my home base, in His holy grace
I'm in a God place, oh, in a God place, yeah, I'm in a God place

LIKE YOUR HAIR'S ON FIRE
Like Your Hair’s On Fire
(Verse)
Caught the ear of an old guy at work one day
Two weeks from his gold watch, no smile on his face
He said, "This job fed our fam'ly, put a roof over our heads
Gave 'em 40 years of sweat now all I've got is regrets”
I said, "What's your advice man?" And he said....
(Chorus)
Don't think time's on your side
It's nothin' but a thief
One day a girl 'll catch your eye
Next day you're a dad of three
Take that spark in your belly
Pour gasoline on desire
And chase your dreams
Like your hair's on fire
(Verse)
I went home that night, blew the dust off my guitar
Friends at the fact’ry said it won't take you far
I'm not buyin' what they're sellin', I'm out to prove 'em wrong
My ticket is my voice and a suitcase full of songs
That ‘ol guy’s words echo in my head...
(Chorus)
(Instrumental turnaround)
(Bridge)
I'll either make it to the top or go out in a blaze
I'll never have a "what if", so I win either way
(Breakdown chorus)
(Outro)
Ohhh, chase your dreams
Like your hair's on fire…ohh ohh

THE BEST THING I NEVER DO
Best Thing I Never Do
If bad choices made you rich, I'd be a millionaire
My cash would fill a Brinks truck and I'd have more to spare
Our love is no mistake and you know I'm here to stay
But sometimes when we fight, it's like a scene from Groundhog Day
(Chorus)
I smoke my tires in the driveway
Kick up a cloud 'a dust
I fuss 'n I swear like I'm headed somewhere
But, my foot never leaves the clutch
I weigh the consequences
And when I've gotta choose
Leavin' you is the best thing I never do
I grab my bag and keys and a slice 'a humble pie
Your kiss says I'm forgiven and we makeup one more time
Our love is close to perfect, but we're no Barbie and Ken
'Cause when it hits the fan, it's like deja vu again
(Chorus)
I guess it helps me cool off and later on we laugh
'Bout me actin' a fool again and just burnin' all that gas
(Chorus)
(Outro)
Yeah, I weigh the consequences
And when I've gotta choose
Leavin' you is the best thing I never do

GOD NEVER WASTES A PAIN
God Never Wastes A Pain
Verse
When I'm fighting life and feel so weak
Like I'm out numbered and on my knees
When my faith is hanging by a thread
And all the green lights are turning red
Chorus
That's when He shines
That's when He teaches me
That's when He opens doors
I would never see
When I rise up from the darkness
And the sun shines through the rain
I see once again
God never wastes a pain
Verse
Scars are stepping stones to a better me
Leading down a path to who I want to be
When I think the landmines are all cleared away
One I didn't see blows up in my face
Chorus
Bridge
The heavier the weight, the stronger I become
I never face a Goliath, I can't overcome
With Jesus...ohhh, oh, with Jesus
With Jesus...ohhh, with Jesus
Ohhh, with Jesus (x2)
Chorus (optional)

HOOK LINE AND TEQUILA
Hook Line and Tequila
There I was floatin' in my boat
Twin seater with a Mercury 2 stroke
Nothin' bitin', but it sure beat work
Just needed somethin' to quench my thirst
Docked by the neon flashin' on the beach
Strolled to the bar and took a seat
In a blink I forgot about fishin'
Said, "girl I'll have whatever you're mixin'"
Chorus
I saw her face
Aw, I took the bait
Like a fish floppin' out on the lake
And I loved her butt kickin' margarita's
And I fell, oh yes I fell
Hook line and tequila
Think I had three, mighta been 10
She'd pour, I'd drink then she'd pour again
We talked marriage, at least I did
Proposed three times and she'd just grin
When the tequila was almost gone
She closed the bar and took me home
Felt like my brain went through a blender
But, one thing I do remember...
Chorus
Hitched a ride to that place the next day
Stopped in for a burger and a coke
She said, "I'm off at 5 and I love fishin'"
I said, "got an extra seat in my boat"
Chorus
Oh, yes I fell…oh I fell
Hook line and tequila…yeah, hook line and tequila
Man, that girl can fish

TOUCH ONE LIFE
Touch One Life
TV man says, "Don't look away you can do something great for penny's a day"
It's so hard to see the pain on the face of that little boy
There’s a mom right here in my home town
She’s been sick, two kids runnin' 'round
And she comes from a long line of proud
Never learned how to put her hand out
And I think…
(Chorus)
If not me....who
If not now...when
But, for the grace of God
I'd be one of them
Hey, I know I can’t change the whole world
But, I….can touch one life
So, tonight I’ll go down to the grocery store, fill a few bags to leave by the door
When they wake up tomorrow at least there’ll be food in the house
I’ll write a note and sign, “Just a friend”
With five simple words, “I’ve been where you’ve been”
I can’t make her troubles all end
But, I can help her get back up again
Because...
(Repeat chorus)
I’ve got clothes on my back and I’m well fed
I’m safe from the storms with a roof over head
(Repeat chorus)
(Outro)
Yeah, I can touch one life
Oh, Oh, I can touch one life

I SURE MISS 9/12
I Sure Miss 9/12
Twin towers turned to rubble and ashes from the planes
Our hearts were like one, bursting from the pain
Evil men thought they could tear us all apart
They hit a couple targets, but they sure missed their mark
(Chorus)
Our spirits soared like eagles flying high
Never seen us come together
And be more unified
Politicians arm and arm
Didn't matter what their stripes
Average Joe's becoming heroes
A million flags waving with pride
Somehow it's all gone to hell
Man, I sure miss 9/12
Now everybody’s angry at everybody else
We’re busy pointin’ fingers, never blaming ourselves
It shouldn't take a war to get us back on track
When all we’ve gotta do is have each others back
Repeat chorus
Our Pentagon still stands wide and proud
Flight 93 in Shanksville lies on sacred ground
Bet those terrorists were shaking in their souls
When that patriot stood up and yelled “let’s roll”
Repeat chorus (break down)
I pray someday with God’s help
We’ll get back to how were on 9/12

LORD SAVE ME FROM MYSELF (BEST OF SONGU.COM)
Lord Save Me From Myself
Lord, I've been studyin' the bible searchin' for the truth
I wanna learn ev'ry word that came from you
These days ain't been easy, guess I'm goin' through a test
My hard head makes things harder and I make a bigger mess
(Chorus)
Lord save me from myself
While I get out of the way
When you speak to me
Let me listen closer
To what you have to say
You're the only one I know that can help
Lord save me from myself
I thought I knew all the answers, huh, turns out I don't
Can't find peace awake or asleep goin' it alone
Now I turn to the page, where you say, "turn the other cheek"
Oh, why can't I be that strong, in those times I need to be

Please lift this veil of darkness, cause I'm lost

SMALL TOWN BIG BARN
Small Town Big Barn
There's a bright red wooden structure out on Highway 5
Holds a hundred head 'a cattle, it's long and it's wide
It becomes a billboard when the young bucks raise some hell
White letters spell out secrets no ones supposed to tell
(Chorus)
Small town big barn
All the latest gossip fresh from the farm
When nosy neighbors need to know
They don't need to go too far
Small town big barn
The ministers got a mistress, the mayors on the take
Kate Johnson loves her liquor, Jack and Billy both love Kate
Judge Walker's bouncin' checks, the game warden's jackin' deer
For a good time just call the sheriff's daughter 'round here
(Chorus)
Every time that ol' farmer puts on a fresh coat of red
New headlines seem to crop up when he goes to bed

Oh, small town big barn
Dang that barn

FREEDOM IS A LIAR
Freedom Is A Liar
(Verse)
We were sipping coffee in the back of that cafe
I was trippin' over words I'd rehearsed that day
Finally said, "A voice is telling me I need a break...just a little space"
I said, "It's not the end", but the end was written all over her face
(Pre Chorus)
And damn that voice, oh, damn that voice
(Chorus)
It never told me I'd be so lonely
Pacing the floor at 2am
Or drowning my regrets
Watchin’ sun sets
With her empty chair for company
Oh, I dove into the devils fire
Now I know...freedom is a liar
Yeah, freedom is a liar
Verse
I can hang with my buddy's, get trashed out of our minds
I can do what I want, when I want, no one to run it by
Now, I've been with other girls and I felt nothing every time
Just a longing for her and emptiness inside
(Pre Chorus)
And damn that voice, oh, damn that voice
(Chorus)
Bridge
If that voice were a man, I'd shut his mouth
Get in his face, have a knockdown-drag out
Outtro
Cause yeah, freedom is a liar, oh freedom is a liar
Damn that voice, oh damn that voice
Freedom is a liar, ohhh, ohhh, ohhhh....

ONE DRINK KINDA NIGHT
Alright...here we go!
(Verse)
Clocked out…gotta say I’m sure dead beat
Boots on…barely draggin my two left feet
Gotta a new girl and she’s got plans
Lucky for me she hates to dance
But, we’re gonna drop by and say hi before we leave

Everybody wants to party
Gotta feelin’ I could jump right in…stay til I’m feelin' alright
Band is jammin', yeah it’s crankin’ up
Crowd is rowdy and they’re gettin' drunk
But, for her and me it’s just a one drink kinda night
(Verse)
Heads up…two Bud Lights comin’ our way
She smiles…I've been waitin' on that all day
Nothin’ better than a Neon song
To get everybody here singin’ along
And when we get to the bottom of the bottle you can bet I’ll say
(Chorus)
Hey it’s finally Friday
Everybody wants to party
Gotta feelin’ I could jump right in...stay til I’m feelin' alright
Band is jammin', yeah it’s crankin’ up
Crowd is rowdy and they’re gettin' drunk
But, for her and me it’s just a two drink kinda night

My buddy just brought a bucket back
To the table for one more round
I can tell by the way she’s grinnin’ at me,
We won’t be turnin’ it down

A PLACE TO PLANT MY BOOTS
Right now I'm breathin' in my freedom
Lovin' every song I sing
Tappin' my hand over my heart
For the crowds the good Lord brings
Someday I'm gonna settle down...way down
Marry a special girl, live in a cornfield town
(Chorus)
With our name painted on the mailbox
Near a white picket fence
Our kids rope swingin' from the tree house
Sleepin' in their backyard tent
We'll be kickin' back
Kissin' our way through I love you's
When these crazy days are over
I'll be looking for
A place to plant my boots
She'll be rockin' the PTA
And teachin' Sunday school
Makin' sure homework gets done
Layin' down her momma rules
I'll be coachin' Little League and untyin' fishin' lines

HE BLEEDS BLUE
He Bleeds Blue
She runs her hot iron over his uniform
It's cleaned and pressed with a crease, not one thread is torn
She kisses him goodbye, plants one on his badge for luck
Then he's off to his thankless job, the one he loves so much
(Chorus)
He bleeds blue
Pride written on his face
He knows the danger
And does his job anyway
Out there trying to make a diff'rence
Protecting me and you
Tuning out the ridicule
'Cause he bleeds blue
There's kids that hang in the park, he's takin' a liking to
Spends time with them to listen and to shoot some hoops
He brings Ms. Jones her mail, cause she's been laid up for months
Then he saves a wife with a black eye and hauls the creep away in cuffs
Just a routine traffic stop, like he's done a thousand times
Soon his partner cries while he tells the wife,
"God called our brother home tonight"
(Breakdown Chorus)
And he bleeds blue
Pride written on his face
He knew the danger
And did his job anyway
Out there trying to make a diff'rence
Protecting me and you
Was scorned and ridiculed
Yet, he bleeds blue
Scorned and ridiculed
Oh, he bleeds blue
She runs her hot iron over his uniform
It's cleaned and pressed with a crease...'cept where the threads are torn

WHERE I GO TO CHURCH (FEMALE DEMO)
Where I Go To Church
It's a perfect Sunday mornin' down here at the creek
And I'm a one man congregation once again this week
My troubles start to drift away as the water rolls on by
And the birds sing hallelujah as my spirit comes back to life
(Chorus)
That's where I go to church
In a sanctuary of heaven here on earth
The one my Father built
No human hand can stand a chance
Against God's handi-work
So, that's where I go
Where I go to church
I take my communion where my soul is fed
And I don't need a cathedral, a steeple high over my head
And I'm not tryin' to change you or tell you where to find your peace
But, a field of green or a mountain stream always works for me
(Chorus)
That's where I go to church
In a sanctuary of heaven here on earth
The one my Father built
No human hand can stand a chance
Against God's handi-work
So, that's where I go
Where I go to church
(1/2 chorus)
It's not made with human hands
It's God's own handi-work
So, that's where I go
Where I go
Where I go to church

POUR ME SOME HAPPY
Pour Me Some Happy
My baby ran off with the UPS man
Headed down to Vegas in his big ol' brown van
I'm left with the bills for all these packages and
None of them belong to me
My old Dodge is dyin' in a bed of rust
My corn crop is dryin' in a field of dust
I'm lower than a snake belly in a rut
But, you've got the remedy
(Chorus)
So, pour me some happy
Big glass of feel good
Gimme what they got
Cuz it's lookin' real good
Ask me what I need
I'll tell you exactly
Pour me, pour me some happy
Ev'rybody's celebratin' like it's New Year's Eve
Or a Mardi Gras party in New Orleans
Boys slappin' high fives, girls smilin' at me
Wish I could buy 'em all a round
But, that lottery number I forgot to play
Turned out to hit the jackpot today
I'm missin' out on fourteen million and change...
(Repeat chorus)
A shrink might take a year, but I can get my healin' right here

MY TATTOO'S
My Tattoo’s
Don’t have much ink painted on my skin
No face of Jesus, though I believe in Him
No “I love mom” on my arm, but she knows that I do
No name of an old flame, I'd have to get removed
All my best ones lie deep inside
Some I’m proud to share, other ones I hide
Chorus
That kinda ink can’t be erased
I’ll take ‘em all to my grave
Faces and places
Mistakes and God's graces
They all tell my truth
My tattoo's…my tattoo’s
Some make me smile and some left scars
First love, first broken heart and first guitar
My best friend from school, I haven’t seen since then
Front porch talks with grandpa, wish I could have again
Memories engraved on my heart
At least a thousand more left their mark
Chorus
Some have faded to black and white
Some are summer rainbow bright
Chorus
Yeah, they all tell my truth
Oh yes, they do…my tattoo’s

BORN ON THE BAYOU BABY
BORN ON THE BAYOU BABY
Vs. 1
I'm a hard headed boy from Alabama, with hot southern blood in my veins
I was hitch hikin' through Atlanta, when I was saved from the Georgia rain
By four wheels from Louisiana with Ms. Heaven in the drivers seat
Oh, she held my eyes like a carpenters vice and wouldn't let go of me
Chorus
She's my BORN ON THE BAYOU BABY
Cajun queen and I don't mean maybe
She’ll catch a crawfish
Give ‘em a beer
Tame an alligator without any fear
She likes livin' on the other side of crazy
She's my BORN ON THE BAYOU BABY
Vs. 2
Well, that long legged girl from Louisiana, made a bee line to Baton Rouge
She was a dancer in Savanna, but she was headed back to her roots
Now we’re livin’ on jambalaya and I’m lovin’ her voodoo ways
And her wild side keeps me satisfied, that’s why I’m here to stay

I DON'T LOOK A DAY OVER YOU-DUET VERSION (BEST OF SONGU)
I DON’T LOOK A DAY OVER YOU
Vs. 1
I look at the pictures, we took down in old Mexico
Then I glance in the mirror, and the years have been kind I suppose
I still look the same, except for a wrinkle or two
And when I look in my eyes, there's no way to deny
I DON'T LOOK A DAY OVER YOU
Chorus
The way my arms held you that day
Is the way my heart holds you tonight
I'd never let you slip away
If I could just go back in time
There are feelings the years can't erase
And some ties that bind won't come loose
And teardrops don't lie
And I guess that's why
I DON'T LOOK A DAY OVER YOU
Vs. 2
I remember the night, we spent in that Red Rose cantina
We danced in the shadows, kissed as we sipped margarita's
My body’s in Texas, but I left my heart in Cancun
'Cause every man that I meet, says it's plain to see
I DON'T LOOK A DAY OVER YOU
Repeat Chorus

YEAH IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME WE PARTY
THERE MIGHT BE DANCIN' ON THE BAR
FIGHTS OUT IN THE YARD
LIKE A BOLT FROM A THUNDER CLOUD
IT MIGHT GET LOUD
OH IT MIGHT GET LOUD
I SAID COWBOY I AIN'T NO CITY CHICK
I GREW UP IN KICKER BOOTS GOT DEEP COUNTRY ROOTS
OUT IN THE STICKS...WHAT YOU SEE AIN'T ALWAYS WHAT YOU GET

EVERY SUNDAY (BEST OF SONGU)
EVERY SUNDAY (Best of SongU)
(Verse)
He wore his past on his calloused hands
His chest beat with the heart of a lonely man
He’d been a slave to that old brown bottle
And each tomorrow was just yesterday again
In a vision late one night, he saw an Angel dressed in white
Who whispered to him throw that bottle down
(Chorus)
Then every Sunday, a few pews from the back
He'd open up his Bible, to keep himself on track
And with the Gospel choir, sang praises to our Father
He believed God heard him every time he prayed
And he prayed, yes he prayed
EVERY SUNDAY
(Verse)
A single mom, tryin' to make her way
Two precious kids to feed and bills to pay
She gave up on love when her man left her
And her heart became more bitter every day
In a vision late one night, she saw an Angel dressed in white
Who told her how to turn her life around
(Chorus)
Then every Sunday, a few pews from the back
She'd open up her Bible, to keep herself on track
And with the Gospel choir, sang praises to our Father
She believed God heard her every time she prayed
And she prayed, yes she prayed
EVERY SUNDAY
(Bridge)
They still don't know why, they caught each others eye
When the annual church picnic came around
But a look can be enough, to plant the seeds of love
When an Angel dressed in white is smiling down
(Chorus)
Now every Sunday, a few pews from the back
They open up their Bibles, to keep themselves on track
And with the Gospel choir, sing praises to our Father
They believe God hears them every time they pray
And they pray, yes they pray
EVERY SUNDAY, oh yes they pray, EVERY SUNDAY

FIX THIS TRUCK
Fix This Truck
Drivin' down to Macon my ol' truck's engine played out
Oil light was blinkin', it was spittin' out a hot steam cloud
Took a tow truck ride to a Texaco a man put 'er on a lift
Said, "she's bleedin' rust, motors cooked 'n its hard to find parts for it"
And I said,
(Chorus 1)
"This truck was my dad's
I still see him in that cab
What I'd give for one more fishin' trip
When I close my eyes he's drivin' it
There's a million boyhood mem'rys 'neath that red Georgia dust
So mister, please fix this truck"
He stood there for a minute, greasy rag held in his hands
Then he tugged his cap n' said, "I'll do the best I can
Can't promise much, but I'll be in touch, son if it's meant to be"
I said, "I know it's only metal, but it means so much to me
doncha' see,
(Repeat chorus 1)
It must've been a month when he pulled up right out front
In a 30 year old like new red pickup truck
Well, he tugged his cap, gave my back a slap, then pulled his wallet out
Showed me a black n' white and I thought I saw a tear runnin' down
And he said,
(Chorus)
"This truck was my dad's
I still see him in that cab
What I'd give for one more fishin' trip
Cuz, when I close my eyes he's drivin' it
There's a million boyhood mem'rys 'neath that Alabama dust
And he taught me how to fix this truck
Yeah, he taught me how to fix this truck"

DANCIN' IN THE BARN
Dancin' In The Barn
I plow the fields, load that silo
Mend a fence, by the corn rows
Move some dirt with that back hoe
Aw, doncha know it takes a toll
Well, I'm just hired hand
And sometimes I'd like to quit
But, the farmer's got a daughter
And she's everything I'd miss
(Chorus)
She sneaks out the back door
When the sun goes down
Meets me in the hay loft
And we go round 'n round
Got a disco ball and boom box
And the best time on that farm
Is when the work day's over
And we go dancin' in the barn
We take off our boots, play a slow track
Move in close, I lose my ball cap
Start to sway, yeah she likes that
Pick up the pace and we rock fast
(Chorus)
Oh, I love it when she shows off her moves
Aw, shake it, shake it, shake it, shake away my blues
(Chorus)
Oh, we go dancin' in the barn
Yeah, round 'n, 'round, 'n 'round
We go...dancin' in the barn
Oh, we go dancin' in the barn
....Hey girl, show me that move one more time
That's what I'm talkin' 'bout...ha-ha...whew

THE BEST IS YET TO COME (BEST OF SONGU)
THE BEST IS YET TO COME
V1
I see your green toy soldiers in a box with a mask from Halloween
Your first grade pictures lying there with a cap from your old ball team
Your bedroom seems so empty now, without you in it son
But as you start your life with your new bride, I know the best is yet to come
CHORUS
Take her hand
Spread your wings
Fly as one
And build a million memories
I wish you joy
Oh, I wish you love
And I trust in God
That the best is yet to come
V2
Well, there’s smiling faces all around and the vows have all been said
There’s a pretty girl who waits for you with a white veil on her head
As we move across the dance floor, I’m so proud of you son

YOU GOT ME STARTED
You Got Me Started
© 2016 Pat Kelley/Lee Johnson
I'd picked out my cornflakes, turned left on aisle 5
My head was out in space when I felt our carts collide
We chased your can of peas down to the frozen foods
Laughed till we were breathless, flirting like two damn fools
I was fallin' fast for you, 'cause...
(Chorus)
You got me started like a spark-plug firing up and
My heart was pumpin' like a NAS-CAR driver bumpin’
Those lips, that smile, those dimples
That laugh, those eyes that twinkle
Like all the brightest stars,
You caught me so off guard
Girl, you got me started
Girl, you got me started
I got your cell phone number, rang you up that Friday night
Went out for Marguirita's, swore I'd get you home by nine
Next thing I knew we’re dancing, last ones out on the floor
Bartender yelled out, “last call”, it wasn’t drinks we were lookin’ for
But, we still wanted something more, ‘cause...
Chorus 2 then Bridge:
I tipped our taxi driver, and we kissed like more than friends
As you turned the key on your front door
You smiled that smile said, "come on in"
Chorus 3 Breakdown 1st ½ then Big then Vamps out...
You got me started like a spark-plug firing up and
My heart is pumpin' like a NAS-CAR driver bumpin’

PREACH IT LIKE YOU MEAN IT
Preach It Like You Mean It
Oh, yeah preach it, come on preach it
The old preacher said, "Son, I don't mean to laugh
But, before my first sermon, my knees knocked like that
Just take a deep breath, feel the message in your bones
Then bring the holy hammer down, and Brother take it on home
Open up the heavens, close the door to hell
Reach down deep, pull it from the well and
(Chorus)
Preach it like you mean it
Yeah, have a real come to Jesus
Thump your Bible
Raise the roof
Bring 'em to their feet
Screamin' for the Truth
And preach it like you mean it
Oh yeah, preach it like you mean it
The young preacher stood, then he grabbed that mic
And went about the business of showing them the light
The sermon that he gave was not the one he planned
Words rained down from something greater than a man
Every arm reached up, like he'd cast a spell
The walls did shake and the old preacher yelled
(Chorus)
(Turnaround)
(Chorus)
Then he shouted, can I get an amen, let me hear an amen--oh a little louder now, little bit louder, hallelujah...come on now you've got it brother, preach it like you mean it

REAL GIRL
Real Girl
I watch you fightin' with the mirror
And fussin' with your dress
That cloud of doubt your wearin'
Is messin' with your head
You keep starin' at the cover of that Cosmo Magazine
Comparing yourself to airbrushed fantasies
(Chorus)
I wanna real girl
And that's what I see
Talkin' bout a real girl
Pure perfection to me
Oh, you're beautiful
So, don't change a thing
I wanna real girl
And you're a real girl
You glance up from your menu
As she slowly passes by
Her type are like a magnet
Holdin' everybody's eyes
You turn around and ask me if I still want what you've got
And I say, "everything you have is everything I want"
(Repeat chorus)
If you could stand inside my shoes for one minute
And gaze out from my eyes
You'd know I've found the only girl I want
To love for the rest of my life

THE BEST PICTURES (BEST OF SONGU)
THE BEST PICTURES
Copyright 2015 Lee Johnson/Bucky Jones/Pat Kelley
Girl, there’s a shoebox in my head full of photographs
None of them were taken by a camera lense
Like the first time I laid eyes on you in high school
And the way you wore that California tan
They’re special moments of a time and place
Snapshots of life that never fade
(Chorus)
I can’t hold them in my hands
But, they’re real
Like my first bike, my first fight
My first time behind the wheel
I can see ‘em in my mind
Crystal clear
Like our first touch, our first kiss
Yeah, that one I had to steal
The first time we gave into temptation
Girl, all the best pictures are the ones not taken
I remember that balloon ride at Daytona Beach
Your eyes looked like saucers way up there
When we touched the ground again you kissed it
But, you never did admit that you were scared
Girl, I keep a thousand memories like that
In this photo album covered by my cap
(Chorus)
All the best pictures are the ones
Girl, the way you look tonight, you know it’s true
I wanna freeze another frame of you
(Chorus)
All the best pictures are the ones….the ones not taken (Repeat x2)

BURN THAT BRIDGE
Burn That Bridge
[Verse]
Well, my friend had a best friend named Jim Beam
Now, ol' Jim's got a reputation for killin' dreams
My friend paid with his job and a real good wife
It took God and 12 steps till he finally saw the light
(Chorus)
He threw a match
Burned that bridge
Flames shot high, touched the sky till there was nothing left of it
When the ashes kissed the water
He was proud of what he did
Yeah, threw a match
And burned that bridge
[Verse]
Gwen tossed her graduation cap to the moon
Flipped a finger to the mean girls that day in June
Now her Silicone Valley plate spells out "REVENGE"
As her reunion invitation flies outta her Benz
(Chorus)
She threw a match
Burned that bridge
Flames shot high, touched the sky...there was nothing left of it
When the ashes kissed the water,
She was proud of what she did
Yeah, threw a match
And burned that bridge
(Short instrumental)
[Bridge]
When it's time to put the past in the past
Gotta run straight toward tomorrow and never look back
[Chorus]
Throw a match
Burn that bridge
Till the flames shoot high, touch the sky and there's nothing left of it
When the ashes kiss the water
Smile at what you did
Yeah, throw a match
And burn that bridge
(Outro)
Ohhh, throw a match
And burn that bridge

It was the only voice I heard
Stood like Goliath
Between me and God’s Holy word

I saw pain He saw a purpose
One day He opened my eyes
No longer blinded by the lies
I saw the bigger picture
And I, oh I was delivered

Armed for the battle
I won’t bend and I won’t cower
With my shield of faith
Fear no longer has the power

Saved by His amazing grace

IT’S A COWBOY LIFE
(Optional intro chorus)
He’ll ride the range from dusk till dawn
We call it wild, he calls it home
His painted horse has served him well
They’ve been through storms, they’ve been through hell
He’s got a gun strapped on his hip
For the rattlesnakes along his trips
Chorus
It’s a cowboy life
It’ll rope you in
It gets real deep under your skin
Ain’t about gettin’ rich
It’s a daily scratching of an itch
It’s a cowboy life
Some are born to it
Some make the choice
Neither one can quit
It all comes with a heavy price
It’s a cowboy life
Yeah, it’s a cowboy life
Still thinks about what coulda been
With a blue-eyed girl from way back when
She was a fire that never died
Still keeps him warm sometimes at night
Won’t be headlines when he’s gone
Just a simple cross and a stone

NEVER GONNA BE A SAINT
NEVER GONNA BE A SAINT
Copyright 10/12/24 Pat Kelley, BMI pk2@vermontel.net
Verse 1
Lookin' back, I'm amazed that I'm alive
'Tween the car wrecks, hell raisin' and the bar fights
Drove momma near half crazy
Said I'm too much like my dad
Gave me her love for Jesus
So, I didn't turn out half bad
Chorus
I'm better than I once was
Still a million miles from perfect
Say my prayers, go to church
But, I can be a hot head redneck
I ask God for forgiveness
Bout a hundred times a day
Yeah, He and I both know
I ain't never gonna be a saint
Verse 2
When I curse, I shake my head in shame
Bet God just laughs, as I do my best to change
Think my 20 bucks helped that mom
Countin' quarters at the pump
Then I drove away-threw the bird
At the guy that cut me off
Chorus
Repeat verse 2 (optional)
Yeah, he and I both know
I ain't never gonna be a saint
Bridge
If God's keepin' score
My game is prob'ly tied
Gotta live my life
Like it's the bottom of the 9th
Yeah, he and I both know
I ain't never gonna be a saint (x2) --- END ---

GOD DID IT
God Did It
V1
It's almost like I've lived two separate lives
The one I’m living now and the one that died
I was good at hiding sins behind my smile
Lost on a dark road for too many miles
The water I was thirsty for was right there all along
In a well named Jesus that I stumbled on
He was there to fill the empty beating in my chest
When I finally surrendered, aw, He did the rest
So, if you see a different me...
Chorus
God did it
I give Him the praise
Yeah, God did it
He changed my ways
Never drank a whiskey
That made me feel like this
There’s no high like forgiveness
When we get his precious gift
God did it, ooh God did it
Hmm, oh yes He did
V2
There were friends I had to lose along the way
To break the chains I was tied to yesterday
Although Satan still whispers in my ear
His temptation cannot win with Jesus near
Chorus
Bridge
God did it, beat the sin right outta me,
God did it, healed my soul and set me free
I was just too weak to change myself
Heaven must have known I needed help
God did it…ooh, God did it
Ooh Hallelujah…God did it
Oh, you know he did, oh yes he did…ooh, God did it

UNSUNG SAINTS-FEMALE
Unsung Saints
(Verse)
Well, he ain’t got wings, but the folks under that bridge would swear he does
'Cause the blankets that he brings are like a gift from up above
He dishes out some food and feeds them all a little hope
And he knows but for the grace of God he’d be in the same boat
(Chorus)
That’s an unsung saint, that’s your everyday hero
Living everyday the only way that he knows
In every town on every street you might not know them when you meet
But they're making this ol’ world a better place
So raise your voice and sing a song for the unsung saints
(Verse)
She taught three generations how to read and write and love
There’s no one in this little town her spirit hasn’t touched
For the hurting and the hopeless she was there in times of need
And last Sunday at her service you couldn’t find an empty seat
(Chorus)
(Refrain)
For the unsung saints...For the fireman running into the flames
Unsung saints...For the soldier fighting through his pain
Even though you’re never gonna know their names
(1/2 Chorus)
In every town on any street you might not know them when you meet
But they’re making this ol’ world a better place
So raise your voice and sing a song
Raise your voice and sing along
Raise your voice and sing a song for the unsung saints
For the unsung saints

WORST HANGOVER I'VE EVER HAD
WORST HANGOVER I’VE EVER HAD
(Verse)
There's a jack hammer poundin' in my brain
Cars goin' by sound like a freight train
My stomach's queasy, my knees are shaky weak
It's tough to walk with lead in my feet
(Chorus)
It's like I drank too much of your love
Kiss after kiss
Oh, I couldn't get enough
10 shots 'a Jack never made me feel this bad
Girl, since you left
You're the worst hangover I've ever had
(Verse)
I'm gettin' flashbacks, I'm a nervous wreck
Is that your breath on the back of my neck
I smell your perfume, swear I heard you laugh
My fever rises in an ice cold bath
(Chorus)
(Bridge)
I'm cold turkey sober eight weeks on
Still can't think straight
Cause you're 100 proof strong
(Chorus)
(Outro)
Worst hangover I've ever had
I know it's crazy, I still want you back
Aw girl...think I need a rehab

(IT'S ALMOST LIKE) I DIED AND WENT TO NASHVILLE
(It’s almost like) I Died And Went To Nashville
(Verse)
I'd listen real close on my granddaddy's radio
To Grand Ole Opry shows every Saturday night
In my mind I was a star, strumming on my Sears guitar
I knew every line of every song they'd sing
(Pre-chorus)
After all those "maybe next year's" can't believe I'm standing here
All it took was a leap of faith and a Greyhound bus
(Chorus)
And I can hear ol' Hank and Patsy Cline
The man in black singin', "I Walk The Line"
Their voices echo from the Ryman walls
Now I'm a dreamer down on Lower Broad
Playin' for quarters and dollar bills
And it's almost like I died and went to Nashville
(Verse)
Lookin’ out each night through the glare of an old spotlight
I’m the star behind the mic in a smoke filled bar
I pack up and walk back home to a motel bed alone
They may never know my name on Music Row
(Pre chorus)
My friends say I’ve gone to hell, but as far as I can tell
It’s the closest place to heaven I’ve ever been
(Chorus)
(Bridge)
If I never fill a stadium with fans
I'll live with no regrets
And die a happy man
(Chorus)
Yeah, it's almost like I died and went to Nashville

LET'S GET RIDIN'
Let's Get Ridin'
[Verse]
Wake up girl, the clock's a' ringin'
Birds are singin' us a mornin' tune
Ride 'em cowgirl, let's get movin'
Life's a flyin' by us way too soon
Yeah, not a cloud in the sky
Suns out and the roads are dry
Quick kiss and we're on our bikes
Grab yours and I'll grab mine
[Chorus]
Ouu, let's get ridin'
Yeah, a little two-wheel drivin'
Let's cruise up that mountain
We've been talkin' about
We'll get low on the corners
Cut 'em loose on the straightaways
Fly on down the highway
Ouu, let's get ridin'
Yeah, baby let's get ridin'
Ohh, let's get ridin'
[Verse ]
Crank 'em up, 'til their roarin'
Keep 'em rollin' 'til the blacktop ends
Bring a blanket, we'll do some lovin'
Under the willow where the river bends
Girl, we need some time alone
So let's slip our leathers on
Spend the day out spinnin' stones
No time clock ...no cell phones
[Chorus]
[Bridge]
A long road can set us free
With you right alongside of me
(Instrumental)
[Breakdown chorus]
Yeah, baby let's get ridin'

HOLY HALLELUJAH-FEMALE
Holy Hallelujah
Briana Domenica (BMI, Song Rocket Music), Pat Kelley, Patrick Dodge 2/7/2023
(Verse)
I was shackled in pain
Anger had me in chains
Trapped and alone in a cold dark place
My heart had turned to stone
(Verse)
Had a battle to fight
From darkness to light
With the one who died for my eternal life
But Your grace brought me home
(Pre-Chorus)
Your arms held me close
(Chorus)
Holy hallelujah
You healed my soul
Called me Yours forevermore
Set me free
You made me whole
Every song I sing is Yours
Holy Hallelujah
(sing) Holy hallelujah
(Verse)
And now I’m no longer
A prodigal daughter
Everything I am I give to you Father
I want to tell the world…oh
I want to tell the world
(Chorus)
(Bridgge)
These words I pour out for Your praise
All for the glory of Your name
(Chorus)
(Outtro)

STRONG IN THE BROKEN PLACES (BEST OF SONGU)
STRONG IN THE BROKEN PLACES
Vs. 1
She's standin' with her suitcase, about to board the train
Her body’s bruised and battered, her eyes can't hide the pain
She's run out of choices, but she ain't run out of pride
She's taking her first steps into a better life
Chorus
We begin to heal
Wounds on the inside
The moment we decide
It’s time to turn the page
When we let go of the past
‘Cause it’s gone and we can’t change it
That's when we get STRONG IN THE BROKEN PLACES
Vs. 2
He's puttin' on his best smile, he wheels across the floor
His friends say he's lookin' great, just like before the war
Tonight they'll share a toast, but he won't share his thoughts
He's tryin' to move on with what he hasn't lost
Repeat chorus
Bridge
Wounds turn into scars with the passing of time
But scars can turn into a blessing in disguise
Repeat chorus

A GREATER HAND WRITES THE SONGS
A Greater Hand Writes The Songs
Another show...
A lot of souls came here lookin' for a good time
I'd like to touch...
Something deep inside each one tonight
Oh, there's somethin' 'bout the right words
That flow with perfect rhymes
Yeah, it's almost like magic
When a writer gets it right
(Chorus)
I'm a painter of pictures in someone's mind
A teller of tales unfolding line by line
I'd sure like to take the credit
When they laugh, when they cry
Oh, but I've known all along
Though I move the pen
A greater hand writes the songs
Songs hold the power...
To move a grouchy old bitter man to tears
Might spark romance..
Or make folks dance like they haven't done in years
Some might be medicine
To heal a broken heart
And another may join lovers
Who had drifted worlds apart
(Chorus)
I write...He crafts the message
And I play...He gives me the notes
And I sing...pour my soul into it
And watch the music matter
To the ones who need it most
(Chorus)
Yeah, a far greater hand writes the songs

COUNTRY GIRL
Country Girl
Copyright 5/27/15 Katey Laurel and Pat Kelley
I grew up with cows ‘n corn in my backyard
Wore coveralls and a cap that read “Carhartt”
I was baling hay when I was ten years old
Lost a part of me the day that farm was sold
My daddy wiped his tears and a knee dropped to the ground
When the auctioneer brought that hammer down
We left our empty house in a cloud of dust
My childhood faded in the mirror with that old Dodge truck
But, my hands I held onto one steel horseshoe
Daddy nailed above the front door of
The only world I knew
(Chorus)
Memories of where I’m from take me where I go
That earth we plowed keeps me grounded
That’s the power of home
You can take the girl out of the country
To anywhere in the world
But you can’t take the country
Out of a country girl
There were no 4-H Clubs on 16th Avenue
And my city cousins, they didn’t wear cowboy boots
I sure missed the dirt in that land of cold concrete
We may have left the farm, but the farm never left me
Don’t get me wrong, I’m so thankful family got us through
But I’d trade the whole Big Apple for my old saddle
And that backyard view
(Chorus)
Well, it took ten years and this guitar
To buy back that farm
But, it sure paid off when daddy smiled and nailed that horseshoe
Right back where it belonged
Said, girl you bought it for a song --- END ---

JAMAICA THIS WAY
Jamaica This Way
Jimmy Buffet would be right at home in this Kingston bar by the sea
A cool dude with dreadlocks rocks out a steel drum
To a classic calypso beat
A salty breeze drifts from the beach, where bare feet dance in the sand
My girl woulda made this all heaven
Not just a spot for a winter tan...but
(Chorus)
She's high in the Rockies two thousand miles away
Things got crazy and she wanted some space
We had big dreams of the day we'd come to this place
Oh, I never expected to see Jamaica this way
Now the tiki torches are lit, a ball of fire's goin' down in the west
And a black haired beauty sits down next to me
With a smile that steals my breath
She says, "I've worn that look before and been down the same dark road"
I say, "Let's throw back some strong Marguirita's
And have a broken hearted toast...'cause
(Chorus)
They say you can touch the clouds in Denver
Nearly whisper in St. Peter's ear
Kingston Town ain’t got much elevation
But, I just met an angel down here
(Chorus)
My ex is high in the Rockies two thousand miles away
Man, things got crazy and she wanted some space
Didn't know how much would change when I got on that plane
Cause, I never expected to see Jamaica this way
No, I never expected to see Jamaica this way
Aw, I'm here in Jamaica, mon I love this place
Feelin' good...

IT MIGHT GET LOUD
IT MIGHT GET LOUD
V1
This cowboy says, mam I see you're new in town
If you left the city lights for a quiet country life
A place to settle down...welcome to Podunk USA
Quiet as a tumble weed most of the week
But when Friday night rolls around
Gonna give you fair warning right now
Chorus
It might get loud
Oh, it might get rowdy
Yeah, it happens ev'ry time we party
There might be dancin' on the bar
Fights out in the yard
Like a bolt from a thunder cloud
It might get loud
Oh, it might get loud
V2
I said cowboy, I ain't no city chick
I grew up 'n kicked my boots, got deep country roots
Out in the sticks...hey, what you see ain't always what you get
And you ain't seen my wild side yet
Cuz when Friday night rolls around
I'll give you fair warning right now
Chorus 2
It might get loud
Oh, it might get rowdy
Hey, it happens ev'ry time I party
I might be dancin' on the bar
Cat fightin' in the yard
Like a bolt from a thunder cloud
It might get loud
Oh, it might get loud
Solo
Oh, you just might discover
If we run into one another
Repeat chorus 1
Bridge
I'll pound some shots on the rocks
It'll set me off
Like a fuse lightin' up a bomb
Outtro
It might get loud, oh it might get loud
It might get loud, oh, it might get loud

COME TO JESUS
Come To Jesus
(Verse)
He not the best father
Not a true friend
That bottle’s got a grasp on his life
And it’s not giving in
He’s got people who love him
Family that cares
We’ve seen all we can see
And all we could bare
(Chorus)
It’s time for a come to Jesus
Lay it all on the line
Hope he gives his soul
To the Lord
Makes the change
While he’s still got time
Cause when you come to Jesus
Help is on the way
(Verse)
He’s not a good worker
Late most every day
When the whiskey clocks in
It costs more than his pay
We can’t sit and watch him
Throw his life away
There’s a higher power waiting
If he’d turn to God and pray
(Chorus)
(Instrumental)
(Bridge)
So, we’ll meet him at his weakest
(Chorus)
(Outro)
Yeah, when you come to Jesus
Help is on the way

THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH
The Greatest Show On Earth (Is life) Copyright Bucky Jones/Pat Kelley
(Optional ringmaster) “Welcome to the greatest show on earth....”
(Verse)
A three ring circus was really something to see
Aw, Elephants, lions and clowns and the flyin' trapeze
Some people say it was as good as a show can be
Well, I don't agree, 'cause as for me
(Chorus)
It's a shooting star racin' through the sky
Fireworks boomin' on the 4th of July
Kids splashin' in a creek in the summertime
The smile you see in your lover’s eyes
We get our ticket at birth
Yeah, the greatest show on earth is life
(Verse)
Before too long the big top was packed and gone
But on the stage of life, man the show goes on
Like the look of a mom when her baby's born
A small town parade when a soldier comes home
(Chorus) *Followed by instrumental break
(Bridge)
A little girl holdin' grand pa paw's hand, pink sprinkles on her nose at the ice cream stand
Young man so nervous he can hardly breathe, legs 'r shakin', down on one knee...and she says yes
Aw, she says yes
(Final Chorus)
It's a long home run in the bottom of the 9th
A full rainbow painting the sky
Sea of phone lights on a concert night
The sight of Old Glory flyin' high
We get our ticket at birth
Yeah, the greatest show on earth is life
(Outro)
Yeah, the greatest show on earth
Aww, the greatest show on earth…is life --- END ---

UNSUNG SAINTS (MALE)
(Chorus)
That’s an unsung saint, that’s your everyday hero
Living everyday the only way that they know
In every town on every street you might not know them when you meet
But they're making this ol’ world a better place
So raise your voice and sing a song for the unsung saints
(Refrain)
For the unsung saints...For the fireman running into the flames
Unsung saints...For the soldier fighting through his pain
Even though you’re never gonna know their names
In every town on any street you might not know them when you meet
But they’re making this ol’ world a better place
So raise your voice and sing a song
Raise your voice and sing along
Raise your voice and sing a song for the unsung saints

WHERE I GO TO CHURCH (MALE DEMO)
Where I Go To Church
(Verse)
It's a perfect Sunday mornin' down here at the creek
I'm a one man congregation once again this week
My troubles start to drift away as the water rolls on by
And the birds sing hallelujah as my spirit comes to life
(Chorus)
That's where I go to church
In a sanctuary of heaven here on earth
The one my Father built
No human hand can stand a chance
Against God's handi-work
So, that's where I go
Where I go to church
(Verse)
I take my communion where my soul is fed
And I don't need a cathedral, a steeple high over my head
And I'm not tryin' to change you or tell you where to find your peace
But, a field of green or a mountain stream always works for me
(Chorus)
That's where I go to church
In a sanctuary of heaven here on earth
The one my Father built
No human hand can stand a chance
Against God's handi-work
So, that's where I go
Where I go to church
(1/2 chorus)
It's not made with human hands
It's God's own handi-work
So, that's where I go
Where I go....where I go to church
Ohhh…where I go to church

AS FAR AS ANYONE KNOWS
As Far As Anyone Knows
V1
I'm at the gym at 6am and I see you there
Workin' that treadmill like you always did
And I never waste my time to stop and stare
Yeah, I've finally reached a point where I don't care
Pre-chorus
And I never shower quick to watch you walk to your car
And I don't care who you're hangin' with when I see you in a bar
Chorus
I never check your Instagram
Read your social posts
Don't turn green with jealousy
When you're dancin' way too close
Naw, I don't wanna take him out
Yeah, I swear on my grandmaw
And I'm not crossin' my toes
My nose ain't growin' like Pinocchio
As far as anyone knows
As far as anyone knows
V2
It's not like I drive by your house all the time
It's only after work and on the weekends
And I don't care if that strangers car is parked outside
And it's still there when you turn out your bedroom light
Chorus
(Instrumental)
Bridge
Yeah, I've moved on and I never look back
No, I don't, as far as anyone knows
As far as anyone knows
Far as anyone knows

IT'S ALWAYS SOMEONE ELSE
It’s Always Someone Else
I used to send prayer signs to friends on line
For someone sick or on hard times
I'd close my eyes, have a word with God
Ask Him to help, then I'd move on
In the moment I'd honestly sympathize
But, I never realized
Chorus
It's always someone else till it's not
Till the one in the mirror has to walk the walk
Everyone I love ran through my mind
So much more to do
Now it's all about time
Money and things don't mean a whole lot
When your world stops
Yeah, it's always someone else till it's not
I put my best face on one day at a time
Jesus became the best friend of mine
Troubles that once put me over the brink
Are like ant hills and don't mean a thing
In a heartbeat our lives can change
And we're never the same
Chorus
I had my "why me" days like others do
Till I saw that smiling little girl...with no hair
Playin' there in the waiting room
Chorus
It's always someone else till it's not
(Spoken)
Some blessings come in the strangest ways
One of mine came with a scary name
I've got to say, because of cancer
I'm a better me today

WHEN THE WORLD GETS SMALL- GUITAR/VOCAL
When The World Gets Small
I love it when the world gets small
When we lie here insulated from it all
And we swim deep into each others eyes
And time stands still till the morning light
I love it when the world gets small
And the phone is off the hook, so no one calls
When your heart beats in my chest with mine
And we lose all track of space and time
When the world gets small-oh, when the world gets small
(Chorus)
Every fear I have disappears
When you and I are lyin' here
And when I pull you close
Oh, I don't wanna let go
No, I don't wanna let go
I love it when the world gets small
And your arms hold back the storms like an ocean wall
When our kisses melt our cares away
Million things to do, but they can wait
When the world gets small-oh, when the world gets small
(Chorus)
Every fear I have disappears
When you and I are lyin' here
And when I pull you close
Oh, I don't wanna let go
No, I don't wanna let go
When the world gets small-oh, when the world gets small
When the world gets small-when the world gets small

AMERICAN BACKBONE
AMERICAN BACKBONE
(Verse)
It's 5 am quiet, crack 'a dawn
Fires up that diesel tractor for another run
It's a six-day grind, all damn year
This workin' man racin' time on his ol' John Deere
(Chorus)
He's a small-town story
We don't read about
Same ol’ field his grampaw plowed
Doin’ his best to make that old man proud
You won’t hear him braggin’
Won’t hear him cuss
Workin’ hard is what he loves
Raisin’ a fam’ly, providin’ a home
Through the storms and the droughts
He's an American backbone
An American backbone
(Verse)
Round here his words’ as good as gold
His name is strong like the roots of an oak
Spends Sunday mornin’ in a church pew
Then coachin' his boys ball team that afternoon
(Chorus)
(Bridge)
He’s ain’t out to win a medal
Just keepin' this heartland strong
And prayin’ by the grace of God
One day he’ll pass it on
(Breakdown chorus)
(Outro)
To the rest of the world he's unknown
Yeah, but to us...he's an American Backbone
Quiet, steady, strong, oh yes he is…
An American Backbone

I SEE TENNESSEE
I See Tennessee
(Verse)
I laugh about the day we went to Graceland
You wore your hair just like Priscilla
Rolled our way down Beale Street at sunset
Sippin' on bourbon sarsaparillas
(Verse)
We lied down by the Cumberland
One Nashville neon night
And our hearts tasted magic
Under the Smoky Mountain sky
(Chorus)
I wonder if you think of me
Every now and then
If I ever cross your mind
And what might have been
I think sweet summer perfect
When I think of you and me
We’re still lovers in my movie
And I see Tennessee
(Verse)
It’s like sittin’ down and watchin’ lots of reruns
And knowin’ what the next scenes gonna be
I guess Gatlinburg is still my favorite
That night when you whispered you loved me
(Verse)
No matter where life takes me
I think I know one fact
I may keep moving forward
But, I’ll be looking back
(Chorus)
(Bridge)
I was chasin' songs and highways
You wanted roots and a family
Guess forever found a home
In our Volunteer State memories
(Breakdown chorus)
(Outro)
Yeah, I see Tennessee
Ohh...ohh, I see Tennessee
