Description: Whether the feeling is "ho-ho-ho" or "no-no-no," submit an original song centered around a December or New Year seasonal holiday. Any genre. Any tempo. The holiday does not have to appear in the title, but the lyrics should make the holiday connection clear - whether through a direct holiday reference or holiday-related image or metaphor.
Seeking: We're looking for holiday songs in two categories:
Happy holidays: Songs that feel joyful, celebratory, warm, festive, or fun. Think "Jingle Bell Rock," "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year," "Feliz Navidad," etc. Challenge yourself to find an original title, angle, image, or metaphor rather than falling back on the most common or overused holiday themes and language.
Heart-tugging holidays: Songs that feel wistful, bittersweet, reflective, melancholy, or emotionally complicated. Think "Last Christmas" by Wham!, "River" by Joni Mitchell, "Same Auld Lang Syne" by Dan Fogelberg, "Christmas Song" by Phoebe Bridgers, "Hard Candy Christmas" by Dolly Parton, etc. Challenge yourself to bring an emotional perspective that feels authentically you.
