AMERICA
America
(Verse)
Northern lights and Southern rains;
White sand beaches, mid-states plains.
Mountains crusted with ice and snow;
rivers run to the seas below.
A beautiful land and place to live,
God’s creation, what a wondrous gift.
Many fought and died to keep it free.
Carried the torch of our liberty.
(Chorus)
America the land,
America the people,
America the beautiful,
America the peaceful.
America, where justice is our call.
America, a haven to us all.
(Verse)
Born and raised an American.
Feel so lucky that I am!
There’s no place I’d rather be.
Home of the brave, land of the free!
Some try hard to take us down.
We meet them on the battleground.
Those hard times bring out our best;
we stand stronger for the test.
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
We aren’t perfect, that we know.
But we reap from seeds we sow.
In God We Trust, the motto stands!
Our faith gives hope to every man!
(Repeat Chorus)
(End)
America, a haven to us all.

ANGEL WITH NO WINGS
I used to wonder who she was
what she was trying to do
and I felt pretty dumb sometimes
because I didn’t have a clue
But as time went on I could see
that she wasn’t just someone
God made her just simply
so that His will would be done
She follows a voice inside
takes a road she must travel
With her heart as her guide
to see His truth unravel
I think God has made her
someone to do certain things
and I have to say I’m sure
she’s an angel with no wings
No, she’s not cut from a mold
she wasn’t carved from stone
but I simply can’t be told
that she’s only flesh and bone
There’s a spirit deep inside her
that shines like a star at night
She’s a woman clean and pure
living in a golden light
(Chorus)
Her faith is clear and strong
she lives without a single doubt
No matter what goes wrong
she still remains devout
(Chorus)
Yes, I have to say I’m sure
she’s an angel with no wings
An angel with no wings

ANOTHER DAY IN PARADISE
Another Day in Paradise
(verse)
Ev’ry day I wake up, make coffee, fill my cup.
Sit on the patio chair. Take in sweet morning air.
Think about the day to come. Maybe work or havin fun.
Either way it’s just begun, while I watch the risin sun.
I see the wind blow through the trees,
How the branches all dance with the breeze.
(chorus)
It’s another day in paradise.
That’s how I choose to see my life.
I’m livin it for all it’s worth.
How I spend my time on Earth.
Breath it in, and breath it out.
Problems aren’t what life’s about.
Wish you could see it through my eyes.
It’s another day, in paradise.
(verse)
Ev’ry day I’m movin on. Doin things I’ve always done.
Troubles will find me too. But faith will get me through.
It’s in the way I choose to see, happiness is up to me.
I just set my own heart free. That’s how it’s ‘posed to be.
(chorus twice)
(tag)
Another day, in paradise.

BY THE CAMPFIRE
By the Campfire
Oh Babe, today…you’re on my mind.
Let's run away…leave this world behind.
Go to that place…where we fell in love.
The beautiful lake…with the mountain above.
By the campfire.
We’ll steal some time…make it all ours,
Just yours and mine…under bright stars.
Smelling the scent…of sweet pine air.
Outside our tent…we’ll sit right there.
By the campfire.
(Chorus) We’ll hear the embers…pop and crack
While bright orange flames…take us back,
Fire has a magic…it truly seems
stirrin' those coals…is like stirrin’ our dreams.
By the campfire.
We can cuddle close…in the crispy night.
Just sit and toast…in the warm firelight.
I’ll see me there…in your shining eyes,
We’ll lose our cares…as little sparks rise.
By the campfire.
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge) What I’m thinking of…without a doubt,
Is that we’ll make love…before the fire burns out.
(Repeat Chorus)
(Tag) Oww Oww Yeah Yeah By the Campfire
By the Campfire
Alright, Alright, By the Campfire

CHEATIN ON MY OWN HEART
Our love was like a budding rose the day we gave our vows
Was dreaming of our family, picket fence around our house
I promised him forever and I meant every word
We settled in to live our lives for better or for worse
And silly me believed that he would never think to cheat
But I was wrong and I’m strugglin’ with what I’m doin’ to me
Cheatin’ on my own heart
tellin’ myself lies
Not wantin to believe
he’s in her arms tonight
Hurtin to see the truth of it
too afraid to face it yet
Our love is gone
it fell apart
and I’ve been cheatin’ on my own heart
I ignored lipstick that wasn’t mine I saw on his shirt sleeve
Blamed his friends when I found blonde hair on his car’s back seat
Now I’m staring at my foolish self in the mirror every night
He’s gone out with his friends again, I know things aren’t right
(chorus)
It will hurt to walk away
but it’s killing me to stay
so tonight when he comes home
then he’ll be all alone
No more…
(chorus)
Our love is gone, it fell apart
No more cheatin’ on my own heart

COOL NIGHTS ARE MADE FOR LOVERS
Cool Nights Are Made For Lovers
(Verse)
Sitting on the sofa, it’s a cuddle with you night.
I can feel you breathin, we’re snuggled up so tight.
Got a little buzz goin, sippin on sloe gin.
Finish our movie, then we could go turn in. But,
(Chorus)
Cool nights are made for lovers.
We can go to bed, get under the covers.
Don’t worry ‘bout heat, we got each other.
I’ll be hangin onto you, you can wrap around me too.
Yes, cool nights are made for lovers.
(Verse)
You’re feelin so fine, babe, I’m feelin desire.
Like spontaneous combustion, we can start a fire.
Burnin love ain’t just a song that Elvis sang.
It’s what I feel inside each time you whisper my name. And,
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
Heck with the movie darlin, let’s go on to bed!
Got visions ‘bout you dancin all through my head.
Can’t wait any longer, I’m wantin you right now.
You can keep me warm, honey you know how.
(Repeat Chorus)
(End)
Oh yeah, cool nights are made for lovers.

DREAM'S DON'T HAPPEN WITHOUT HELP
Dreams Don’t Happen Without Help
(Verse)
Like most kids I was a dreamer.
Thought I could do anything.
Maybe be a rock star singer;
could grow up to be a king (queen).
But the truth really isn’t so simple.
I couldn’t just believe in me.
A fire don’t start without kindle;
the right someone has to agree.
(Chorus)
‘Cause dreams don’t happen without help...
Opportunities come from someone else.
We all have to reach out for ourselves,
but dreams don’t happen…. without help.
(Verse)
Takes a friend to lend a guiding hand,
when you can’t do something yourself.
That person who’s willing to take a chance,
when you don’t have anyone else.
Someone shares your vision with you,
they stand right up there by your side.
One who’s willing to work for it too.
They go along with you for the ride.
(Repeat Cho)
(Bridge)
Nothin’s gonna happen if you don’t try.
But can’t do it alone, and here is why...
(Repeat Cho)
(End)
Yes, we all have to reach out for ourselves, ‘cause dreams don’t happen…. without help.

EMBERS OF TRUE LOVE
Embers of True Love
(verse)
When the wild fox is resting, when we cuddle for the night,
that’s when I count my blessings, ‘cause I have her by my side.
Dark is all around us, but we’re warm and snuggled in.
Affection of a good night kiss, with her close against my skin.
My nose is filled with her sweet scent, I know she’s mine to keep.
I’m at peace with contentment, as I gently fall to sleep.
(chorus)
Deepest love you’ll ever know, burns inside from head to toe.
It’s in your heart and in your soul.
And when in time passion’s flames grow cold,
the embers of true love still glow.
(verse)
Come the morning light, she’ll be there next to me.
It will always feel so right, ‘cause I know it’s meant to be.
We’ll go our own ways each day, she has her life, I have mine.
But at night the two become the same; for both of us that’s fine.
(chorus)
Bridge: It takes some time to catch those coals on fire.
But when you do, you learn of true desire.
(chorus)

EVEN IF IT AIN'T RIGHT
(Verse)
'Bout to go crazy just sittin round the house
so many other things we could do
Baby, I think we need to get on out
I wanna go somewhere with you
(Chorus)
Let’s go do somethin
even if it ain’t right
Find a joint that’s jumpin
have us a good time
Ain’t no fun doin nothin
hangin home ev'ry night
Let’s go do somethin
even if it ain’t right
(Verse)
We can drink and dance the night away
some Margarita's would be fine
Maybe just listen to the band play
let the music ease our minds. But…
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
Though the weekend is ours
we shouldn’t get drunk tonight
But we'll go hit a few bars
even if it ain't right. Yeah...
(Repeat Chorus)
Let’s go do somethin
even if it ain’t right
Find a joint that’s jumpin
have us a good time
Ain’t no fun doin nothin
hangin home ev'ry night
Let’s go do somethin
Let’s go do somethin
Let’s go do somethin
even if it ain’t right

FEELING JUST LIKE ME
Lord I’ve been taken by surprise
just turned to find her smiling eyes
sweet baby blues lookin my way
I guess this is my lucky day
Seems like we’re both here alone
and I’ve got my dancing shoes on
So we won’t be that way too long
the band is playin a love song. And…
Love at first sight, I do believe
that’s what’s happenin to me
I’ve never felt this way inside
just from lookin in a woman’s eyes
Night is young so we have some time
If all goes right then she’ll be mine
I’m caught and I can’t wait to see
Please let her be, feelin just like me
I motioned for her to come over
She reached out for me to hold her
She smiled a country mile wide
If she had said no I would have died
I wrapped my arms around her tight
and that has never felt so right
my heart beat wild and let me know
I didn’t ever want to let her go
(Chorus)
This county fair is once a year
man am I thankful I am here
was hopin to meet up with friends
now I don’t want this dance to end
I came here to have me some fun
Maybe shootin targets with a gun
Now I don’t even have to think twice
I’m already holdin onto the grand prize
(Chorus)
Hope she’s feelin just like me

FREE WHEELIN
Free Wheelin
(Verse)
Got two wheels spinnin,
We’re ridin and a grinnin,
Cruisin down the road.
Not carin where we go.
We ain’t looking back.
Got a cold six pack.
We’ll find a place to stop;
then we’ll pop a top.
(Chorus)
We’re out free wheelin.
Takin in the feelin.
Wind in our hair.
Don’t have a care.
Rumble to the sunset.
Get wherever we get.
Our spirits are healin.
We’re out free wheelin.
M,mm,
We’re out free wheelin.
(Verse)
Got my bike, my girl.
I’m lovin my world.
Not answerin to no one.
Just havin some fun.
We’re keepin things cool.
Momma didn’t raise no fool.
Run slow below the limits.
We can savor ev’ry minute.
(Repeat Cho)
(Bridge)
I’ve found my peace of mind.
Really ain’t so hard to find.
(Repeat Cho)
(End)
We’re out free wheelin.
We’re out free wheelin.

FROGGY BOTTOM FRIDAY NIGHTS V2
Froggy Bottom Friday Night
(Verse)
When the week is done, we all take a run, you slam it into second gear.
Hit the pit runnin’, got the engine gunnin’, tryin’ not to spill your beer.
Floatin’ and sinkin’, better keep her movin’, ‘til them mud tires hit the dirt,
Pop up on dry ground, get ‘er turned around, put those horses back to work.
(Cho)
Crank up the weekend,
Bring your four wheel drives if you got ‘em.
Jump off the deep end,
keep your buckin’ truck off the bottom.
It’s pure adrenalin, boy ya better have thick skin,
Hell of a ride, hold on tight,
Sling a little mud on a Froggy Bottom Friday Night
(Verse)
Burgers are grillin’, the beers are chillin, Charlie Daniels turned up loud.
Billy’s sittin’ on a log, with an old coon dog, we’re a down home kind of crowd,
Tommy’s gettin’ traction, on some backwoods action, with the blonde in the high rise Ford.
Then it’s back to your trucks, gettin’ down in the muck, goin’ back for more, more, more.
(Repeat Cho)
(Bridge) Happy as a wet mud hen,
Counting them days ‘til were back again.
(2nd Cho) It’s pure adrenalin, boy ya better have thick skin,
Hell of a ride, hold on tight,
Sling a little mud on a Froggy Bottom Friday Night
(End)
A Froggy Bottom Friday Night! --- END ---

GOD BELIEVES IN ME
(Verse)
I ain’t God’s favorite but I know He loves me
Ain’t been to Heaven but one day I hope to see
Those gates will open wide and let me walk on by
To spend eternity in the golden light
‘Cause I believe. Yeah…
(Chorus)
I believe in Heaven
I believe I’m forgiven
And I know that doesn’t mean
I can do wrong while I’m living
My works will come to play
when I stand on judgment day
and I trust the verdict will set me free
‘cause I trust that God believes in me
(Add After 1st only)
He believes in me
(Verse)
So everlasting life will come to be mine
and that’s gonna come to me in my due time
I’m not in no hurry to leave this living world
Yet I can’t wait to see when His truth is unfurled
‘Cause I believe
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
I know I will sin
and I will fail Him
For I’m just a man
But I’ll do the best I can
Yeah, ‘Cause I believe
(Repeat Chorus)
(End)
Yeah,
Yes, I trust that God believes in me

HONEY DO
Honey Do
(verse)
I really do love my wife.
But I hate that list of hers.
It gives me struggle and strife.
Makes me think of dirty words.
A never endin battle.
Ain’t no way I can win.
Think I’m in the saddle,
she adds to that list again.
(chorus)
Honey I will do, do, do,
what you want me to, to, to
‘cause I still love you, you, you.
But it seems I will never be through,
with my Honey do, do, do,
honey do do do,
No it seems I will never be through,
with my Honey do.
(verse)
The list says “shed needs cleaned out.
Tools are fallin ev’rywhere.”
Creakin wood just seems to shout,
when she steps on that loose stair.
Both the cars are needin washed.
Kids are writing signs on them.
Says to empty my garage.
Startin up with that again.
(chorus)
(Bridge)
List says “time for you and me”
She just smiled and gave a wink.
Flew to the bedroom like a bee.
She said, “Honey, one more thing.”
(chorus)
(end)
Yeah it seems I will never be through,
with my honey do.

HOPE
Hope
(Verse)
What drives us to tomorrow?
Gives us reason to keep on?
What delivers us from sorrow?
Breathes life into each dawn?
Some days it seems so difficult for us to even cope.
So what would life be like without hope?
(Chorus)
Hope!
That sunrise comes with a better day!
Hope.
We can solve all the problems that we face!
Hope!
That a door will open, show us the way!
Hope!
We can make this world a better place!
(Verse)
We thank God for our basic needs.
But we wonder what’s in store.
Have a place to live and food to eat.
But we’re wanting something more.
No, we aren’t looking to have pockets full of gold.
We just want purpose and to peacefully grow old. So we,
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
Cross each bridge over darkness.
After daylight turns to gray.
Ignoring the night’s starkness.
Letting our hope lead the way.
(Repeat Cho)
(End)
Always Hope.
We can make this world a better place.

HOW CAN I SAY GOODBYE
How Can I Say Goodbye
Verse 1: It’s been your lifetime since, yet seems like just yesterday.
One summer’s day we met, burning hearts carried us away.
We grew into best friends, we gave wedding rings, took vows.
Made it through some hard times, there were times, we wondered how.
Build 1: Built a life together, hand-in-hand down each step of our road,
Been a wondrous journey, watching each other grow old.
But the beauty of a rainbow fades, it can never last,
We always knew our golden moment, would also pass. (then…)
Chorus 1: How can I say goodbye, to my ev’rything?
How can I let go, of all our hopes and dreams?
How can I stand behind? see my angel fly…
(1st only—Oh,) How can I? How can I say, goodbye...?
Verse 2: Time is a rule of life, we could only hope to bend.
We wanted so much more, we asked God for time He’d lend.
But what we want for us, doesn’t always fit His plan.
We pray for God’s strength, to accept what we can’t understand.
Build 2: When we see the guiding light of hope move to the distance.
Darkness fills the space behind; truth devours all resistance.
Like reflections on water turn to ripples, with a breeze;
the winds of time change all we love, into memories. (Now…)
(Repeat Chorus 1)
(Bridge) Oh, I went down to one knee when I asked you for your hand.
Then I fell to both when I begged God to understand.
But He saw fit to give you wings, no matter what I said;
So if heaven holds a place for me, I’ll meet you up ahead.
Up ahead.
Chorus 2: Oh, how can I say goodbye, to my ev’rything?
How can I let go of all our hopes and dreams?
How can I stand behind? see my angel fly…
And how can it be..?, How can I, say..goodbye…..?
Spoken: I’ll miss you Ann.

I AIN'T LOOKIN TO BE THE ONE
I Ain’t Lookin To Be The One
(verse)
Don’t need no woman to tell me,
that I might be the one.
I’m just fine bein free,
I’m really busy havin fun.
Don’t want no little gold lasso,
‘round my finger to tie me down.
Ain’t no queen in my castle;
no honey-do list to be found. Oh,
(Chorus)
I ain’t lookin to be the one.
Don’t want my good old days undone.
Not ready for settin down with the sun.
I ain’t lookin’ to be the one.
No, I ain’t lookin to be the one!
(verse)
It ain’t that I don’t love women,
Lord knows how much I do.
But they get all clingy and then,
they stick to you like glue.
I know love leaves no heart unturned,
and I may be a selfish son of a gun.
But jump in that fire, and you’ll get burned,
so I’m keepin my heart on the run. No…
(Repeat Cho)
(Bridge)
I love this single life I live.
I can come and go as I please.
Might be one day that I will give,
I’ll be taken to one knee. But,
(Repeat Cho)
(End)
No, I ain’t looking to be the one!

I BELIEVE IN HIM
I Believe In Him
Verse:
Been giving myself a hard time,
and doubting me a lot.
‘Cause it’s tough living this life of mine,
with the troubles that I’ve got.
But I look up to our Father;
keep asking him for help.
My faith takes me farther,
with this hand that I’ve been dealt. And,
Chorus:
I believe in Him!
I trust Him with my life!
When times are looking grim,
it’s Him that makes things right!
So each day I say my prayers,
and it’s no silly whim.
Talk to the man upstairs,
‘Cause I believe in Him!
Verse:
And He believes in me,
more than I do myself.
He’s my eyes when I can’t see,
the beat of my heart itself.
It’s my choice to be happy;
to free myself from greed.
As long as I have His love,
there’s so little else I need. ‘Cause
(Repeat Cho)
Bridge:
Life might be tribulation,
but I find time to rejoice.
It’s just an education,
to learn from, it’s my choice.
(Repeat Cho)
End:
I just talk to the man upstairs,
‘cause I believe in Him!

I FELT BAD FOR HER
I Felt Bad For Her
(Verse)
Went fishing at Big Creek Lake,
down near Mobile, Alabama.
Had to stop and grab some bait,
found a store run by old gramma.
Floors in there were made of dirt,
with walls built from cinder blocks.
That’s where gramma lived and worked,
ran the store and the boat docks.
(Chorus 1)
At first I felt bad for her.
She didn’t have much at all.
But she had a big old smile for sure,
that was making me feel small.
I had gone and judged her life,
as if it was something bad.
But it cut me like a knife;
she was happy with what she had.
(Verse)
She talked about the folks she’d met,
how they’d come back now and then.
Bought all the lures I could get;
told me please come back again.
That night when we’d had our day,
she was sitting out on her porch.
She looked so withered and gray,
in the dim light of that torch.
(Repeat Cho 1)
(Bridge)
I learned that day what mattered;
and it wasn’t what you owned.
My belief in that was shattered;
thought about it while I drove.
(Chorus 2)
I realized how lucky she was.
How she made me feel so small.
She was happy just because,
she was free to love it all.
She lived where I went to fish,
at night it was all her own,
to enjoy the stars and crickets,
in that place that she called home.
(Tag)
Yes, at first, I felt bad for her.

I FOUND YOU
I Found You
(Verse)
I took a drive down to the corner store;
been there a million times before.
But this time I found me something new.
Yeah, this time I found you!
Couldn’t help but to see you there,
I had to watch so I didn’t stare.
Like an angel come out of the blue;
Heaven helped me, and I found you.
(Chorus)
Yeah, I found you!
Standing there by yourself.
I found you!
Couldn’t see no one else.
Store was full of people too,
but my darling I found you.
(Verse)
Well, I didn’t know what to say.
But I opened my mouth anyway.
And my tongue was stuck just like glue,
all because baby I found you.
Guess you knew what I had on my mind.
You said the words that I couldn’t find.
Just a sweet little How dee do?
I said I’m great, since I found you.
(Repeat Cho)
(Bridge)
Well you answered me back with a smile.
We stood there and we talked for a while
Can’t believe that all my dreams came true.
That’s what happened, when I found you!
(Cho 2)
Yeah, I found you!
Standing there by yourself.
I found you!
Couldn’t see no one else.
Store was full of people too,
but my darling

I REMEMBER YOU
I Remember You
Verse:
Thought our love was stronger than a big ‘ole hurricane!
My heart clapped like thunder ev’ry time I spoke your name.
Sunrise you were next to me; each night I held you close.
Addicting like a drug, I’d always take a double dose.
(Chorus)
Darling, I remember you; I do it every day.
Missing you’s pure heartache, it will never go away.
I remember you; holding hands like we used to do.
Little things like that, kept me so in love with you.
I remember you; but you never told me why.
Guess I’ll be left wondering, ‘til the day I die.
Nothing I can do, you decided we were through,
but all the time, Girl I remember you.
(First only) Yeah I remember you.
Verse:
Somewhere along our road, seems we lost our way.
Lives fell under storm clouds, like some dark and gloomy day.
You turned mean; said cruel things, like I had done you wrong.
Overnight you changed, all your love for me was gone. But,
(Repeat Chorus)
Bridge:
I don’t have the words, for how much I still care.
You’re like those stars at night; what’s the moon without them there?
(Repeat Chorus)
End:
Yeah I remember you.
I remember you.

IF SHE WASN'T MINE
She was like the girl next door
and I’d see her all the time
I thought she was top drawer
couldn’t keep her off my mind
My folks called it puppy love
said the feelin wouldn’t last
But I swear to the Lord above
that feelin never passed. Yet
She didn’t even know me
was like I was just a ghost
She looked right through me
whenever I’d come close
Couldn’t look into her eyes
‘cause I was just too shy
So she never did realize
that I was gonna die
If she wasn’t mine
If she wasn't mine
I felt my heart poundin
whenever she was near
And that girl had me soundin
like a hound after a deer
I knew I had to have her
she was everything I needed
I was feelin pretty sure
my life would be completed. But…
(Chorus)
Now, I may have only been ten
but I thought I’d never love again
I just knew my life was gonna end
if I didn’t have Roxanne. Still…
(Chorus)
Ohhhhh, if she wasn’t mine
If she wasn’t mine

I'LL HAVE TO SET HER FREE
I’ll Have To Set Her Free
Verse:
She’s wants to come back downstairs;
but I tell her it’s nighty-nite time.
It’s so hard to see my baby there;
with those sad, little eyes cryin.
I say good night “you need your sleep;
you’re tired from this long day.
Don’t be sad, I’m yours to keep,
and I’ll never go away.”
Chorus:
But life moves on;
she’s growing so fast;
right in front of me.
One day she’ll be gone,
when my time’s passed,
I’ll have to set her free.
Verse:
I tell her I know, and I need her too;
but it’s time to get some rest.
I say, “Baby, I love you;”
then I tuck her into bed.
I walk to the door, turn off the light;
look back at my sweet young girl.
Love to do this every night;
she’s really my whole world.
(Repeat Chorus)
Bridge:
So like a bird, she’ll fly one day;
I’ll have an empty nest home.
When she grows up and moves away,
to have a life all her own.
I walk to the door, turn off the light;
look back at my sweet young girl.
Love to do this every night;
she’s really my whole world.
(Repeat Cho)
End:
Yes, I’ll have to set her free.

I'M ASKING FOR A MIRACLE
I’m Asking for a Miracle
Verse 1: Father, if you take her from me, I will miss her when she's gone
Now we're up against a battle, and I know we must stay strong
And, I'll keep on fighting for us, on my knees every day
Oh, God I need your help, and don't let it end this way
Build 1: I know we've fought this once before
And, now the enemy is at our door
Together we will trust Your word and pray
Lord, I'm asking for a miracle today
Chorus 1: And You know how much I'll miss her
Please don't take her from me
I need her right now by my side
You'll have her for all eternity
You have so many angels
Don't take mine away
Lord, I'm asking for a miracle today
Verse 2: I know you've prepared a place
where the streets are paved with gold
It's in your plan, I understand, I know you want her home
You hold her future in your hand, and it's all up to you
I know it's selfish, but I can't help it, when I pray
(Repeat Chorus 1)
Build 2: I don't mean no disrespect
But, Father I'm not ready yet
To let her go, again I'm on
My bended knees to pray, (and say)
Chorus 2 & Tag: You know how much I'll miss her
Don't take her from me
I need her right now by my side
You'll have her for all eternity
You have so many angels
Don't take mine away
Lord, I'm asking for a miracle
If it's Your will I need a miracle___ today___

I'M JUST THINKING 'BOUT YOU
I’m Just Thinking ‘Bout You
(Verse)
Waves are rollin gently onto the beach.
But I don’t care ‘cause you’re next to me.
Feels like I’m drugged up, holding you close.
Damn, think I’ll take me a double dose.
(Chorus)
Gulls may be callin;
some raindrops are fallin,
and the sun’s trying to shine through.
Got sand ‘tween my toes.
Salt air in my nose.
But I’m just thinking ‘bout you.
(Verse)
I love this place we found to park.
We’ll hang here ‘til it’s pitch black dark.
We can snuggle up in this cool wind.
We can kiss, and then we’ll kiss again.
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
I’m livin my dream, don't let it stop.
It’s not just your short shorts and little tank top.
I’m addicted to lookin into your eyes.
How that deep blue leaves me mesmerized.
(Repeat Chorus)
(End)
Yes, I’m just thinking ‘bout you.

I'M LOVIN YOU
Times haven’t always been so good
Lived without heat, even firewood
Didn’t have a lot of food to eat
Didn’t have a home beneath my feet
I talked to God and made a vow
Things have gotten better now
My life changed and I’m doin well
I was saved from a living Hell. Now…
I love havin food to eat
a warm place to rest my feet
I’m lovin my new job too
But most of all Lord,
I’m lovin you
Now bein saved means more to me
It’s not what I thought it would be
Turns out life is a better place
when you’re livin with His grace
Now troubles, though I have a few
they don’t do what they used to
It’s like each problem is a test
that I blow off because I’m blessed. And…
(Chorus)
And I know when my life is done
I’ll be where there’s an endless sun
That golden light will shine on me
where I’ll spend my eternity. ‘Til then…
(Chorus)
Yeah, I’m lovin you Lord
I’m lovin you

I'M STILL FEELING YOU
(Verse)
Seems all the stars are shining bright,
but they’re nothing without you.
And there’s a full moon out tonight,
but me dancing alone won’t do.
I’m hiding in a whiskey bottle;
How could you be so cruel?
I knew I was no Aristotle;
didn’t think that I was a fool.
(Chorus)
My hopes and dreams are shattered,
since you told me we are through.
Now I’ve lost what really mattered,
But I’m still feeling you.
Yes, I’m still feeling you.
(Verse)
Babe you didn’t leave me much hope.
You just said you’ve had enough.
Makes me feel like a dope.
‘Cause girl I am still in love.
(Repeat Chorus)

I'M THE MAN
I’m The Man
(verse)
Keep goin’ in circles, you’re gonna get dizzy girl.
One-nighter deals with your head all in a whirl.
Ignoring the truth that you just don’t want to see.
Wastin’ your time when you could be with me.
(chorus)
I’m the man,
who loves you
I’ll hold you tenderly.
I’m the man,
your protector,
keeper of your dreams.
I’m the one,
who wants you,
knows just what you need.
All you have to do,
is turn around,
just turn it around to me!
Oh, do all your runnin’ away that you can,
One day you’re gonna see that I’m the man.
(Verse)
You call me cryin ‘bout all the bad things men do.
You wonder why they do what they do to you.
You can stop the games whenever you want to.
It’s in your hands, don’t care if I’m your fool.
(Repeat Cho)
(Bridge)
I know just what you’re thinkin’ of,
You’re just a little girl afraid of love.
But damn, see who I am? Yes,
(Repeat Cho)
(End)
Yes one day you’re gonna see that I’m the man.

IN A PERFECT WORLD
In A Perfect World
(Verse)
So much bad news with fighting and threats.
Bombing and killing to prove who’s best.
Seems like all mankind is spinning down.
Can’t we just turn this world around?
(Chorus)
In a perfect world, for all of us,
news could be deeds of our shared love.
We could plant seeds from caring hearts,
Just a simple choice is where it starts.
We can all decide to be living.....
all sharing and giving…..
in a perfect world.
(Verse)
Have to see the truth of who we are inside.
All admit that God’s on everyone’s side.
Face our fears with open hearts.
Know that in the mirror is where it starts.
(Repeat Cho)
(Bridge)
Break down the lines dividing us.
Quit judging each other and learn to trust.
Stop finding fault and placing blame.
It would take us all to do the same.
(Repeat Cho)
(Repeat Tag)
Yeah, In a Perfect World.

IN JESUS' NAME
We all have our troubles
that’s just what I believe
but I don’t go drinking doubles
there’s a better way to be. ‘Cause…
Problems are my opportunities
My chance to overcome
beat adversities
But when I come to somethin I can’t change
I’ve learned I can accept it
I just pray in Jesus’ name
(Add after 1st chorus only)
In Jesus’ name
I’ve found that who I am is not
what happens in my day
It’s all in how that I respond
to what gets in my way. So…
(Chorus)
My strength comes from faith
it’s the power of the Lord
When I work within His grace
I can wield it like a sword
(Chorus)
I just pray in Jesus’ Name

INDIAN WARRIOR
Indian Warrior
(Verse 1)
When an Indian boy, becomes an Indian man,
he’s alone with the spirits, of the Indian land.
Hung by piercing bones, through the skin of his chest.
He endures great pain. He must pass the test.
Then a warrior is born, to his way of life.
He dreams of the fight, as he sharpens his knife.
(Chorus)
You must ride like the wind, Indian warrior.
You must fight like a lion, to survive.
But be wise like an owl, Indian warrior.
Be strong, keep the Great Spirit, by your side.
Indian warrior.
(Verse 2)
Stars overhead, lay a carpet of light.
Crackling fire, breaks the silence of night.
The tribe gathers round, as it is their way.
Wisdom is shared, at the end of each day.
Great grandfathers tell, the heroes’ stories.
All the children hear, of Indian glory.
(Repeat Cho)
(Bridge)
Learn what has been, what it takes to go on.
Burn from within; spit fire with your song.
(Repeat Chorus)
Indian Warrior

IT AIN'T MY TIME YET
(Verse)
Old man limped in the store
I asked him how he was
He said I’m rotten to the core
and that’s just fine because
heard the good die young
so I’m gonna hang around
My time on Earth ain’t done
I’m still above the ground
(Chorus)
It ain’t my time yet
angels ain’t called my name
And I have no regrets
livin life my own way
Most of my friends are gone
guess Heaven’s where they’re at
But I’m still hangin on
it ain’t my time yet
(Verse)
Handed me his money
then he walked out the door
While it struck me as funny
I wanted to hear more
Made some sense to me
in a troubling way
I could not disagree
what that man had to say
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
Never did see him again
don’t know if he’s gone
But I can’t forget his grin
as he rambled on
(Repeat Chorus)

No, it ain’t my time yet

JUST CRUISIN
Just Cruisin
Verse:
Sometimes I have troubles, life tries to get me down.
But I don’t go do doubles, or be drinkin 20 rounds.
Jump in my old truck, drive ‘cross green country-side.
Clear my mind of all the muck, while I just cruise my ride.
Lift:
Get my wheels humming down the road.
While I’m talkin to the Lord, ‘bout my heavy load.
Chorus 1:
I see the beauty that’s all around.
I smell the smells, I hear the sounds.
Taste of life that brings me back to earth.
I take it in for everything it’s worth.
That’s what I love doin,
That’s what I love doin,
Just crusin!
(1st cho only) Just crusin!
Verse:
I may stop over here, or maybe I’ll stop there.
Guess I don’t really care, I’ll stop most anywhere.
Love to meet new folks, even more to make new friends.
Stop somewhere for a coke, or so I can stretch and bend.
Lift:
But then I’ll be right back on my way.
And that’s the makins of my crusin day!
Chorus 2:
I see the beauty that’s all around.
I smell the smells, I hear the sounds.
Taste of life that brings me back to earth.
I take it in for everything it’s worth.
That’s what I love doin,
That’s what I love doin,
Just crusin!
Bridge:
I don’t do things that make my problems worse.
Just think of God’s word and my fav’rite verse.
While I’m feelin warm sun and cool wind,
and I wear a big ole, silly grin!

MY COUNTRY GIRL KNOWS THE WAY
My Country Girl Knows The Way
(Verse)
Four wheelin in the mud;
and covered up with crud.
my country girl knows the way.
Fishing pole and fishing hole,
maybe take a dip of Skoal;
my country girl knows the way.
(Chorus)
Yeah my country girl knows the way;
she lives country ev’ry day.
And she’ll have a lot of fun;
she will show you how it’s done.
She ain’t all work and no play;
yeah my country girl, my country girl knows the way.
(Verse)
When the sun goes down,
we might go out on the town;
my country girl knows the way.
Dancing and shooting pool,
take a cowboy back to school;
my country girl knows the way.
(Repeat Cho)

If you get you a country girl,
I swear she’s gonna rock your world,
Just you listen to what I say,
‘Cause my country girl,
my country girl knows the way.

MY REDHEADED REDNECK
My Redheaded Redneck
(Verse)
She looks mighty fine,
when she kicks up those heels.
Boot scoots down the line,
with the music that she feels!
(Chorus)
She’s my redheaded redneck!
Man, she's a live wire.
With her body hot as heck!
She raises Hell's fire!
In Camo she’s got the power!
Shoots a .223 just right!
But she's pretty as a blooming flower,
when she’s made up for the night!
My redheaded redneck!
(Verse)
She may go out mudding;
ATV or four-wheel-drive!
Cleans up like a rose that’s budding.
Turns heads when we arrive!
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
Bright red hair under her hat.
Likes three fingers of Crown.
Smiles just like the Cheshire Cat.
She knows she owns our town!
(Repeat Chorus)

Yeah, my redheaded redneck!
She’s my redheaded redneck!

MUDDY WATERS RISIN'
It was long ago when the sun did shine
darkness came for a long, long time.
Bright sun used to warm upon my face,
but now eternal rains fill this place.
(W/Back) Now eternal rains fill this place.
(Cho) Muddy waters risin’ up on me
Could be drowned and gone to be,
I’m about to get myself stuck,
in the river’s bottom muck.
(W/Back) In the river’s bottom muck.
Yesterday, things were looking good.
But my luck ran away from where I stood.
Now my tomorrow’s gone away.
Seems the Lord is callin’ my name.
(W/Back) Seems the Lord is callin’ my name.
(Repeat Cho)
(Instrumental)
My soul may rise ‘fore the water recedes.
From the water get the rest I need.
I may drift away to my end,
find my peace in the river’s bend
(W/Back) Find my peace in the river’s bend
(Repeat Cho)
I’ll see the glory of heaven’s gates,
Fall down on my knees as I pray.
I hope worthy judgment finds my end,
kinder than this cruel world’s been.
(W/Back) Kinder than this cruel world’s been.
(Repeat Cho)

OLD SOLDIERS
Living in their yesterday
vivid pictures fill their minds
Withered down to old and gray
but they’re not the quitting kinds
Some wear tattered clothes
and are homeless, destitute
There’s so many of those
that the people persecute
Old Soldiers
the ones who gave
Freedom rode their shoulders
brave was their name
They risked it all for us
and they never made a fuss
But the battle’s never over
For old soldiers
Wounds and pains are haunting
they’ve seen and lost a lot
Their hearts and minds just wanting
what most of us have got
A place to live a shattered life
someone to hold them close
More than merely to survive
a home to call their own
(Repeat chorus)
When I see hats of veterans
I salute them; every one
Thank them for their service
for my freedom that they won
(Repeat chorus)
No the battle’s never over
for old soldiers.

ONE ROAD TOWN
The road is a narrow one
both sides lined with parked cars
People come here for some fun
shopping, theatre, and bars
Same old places are still here
and I know each one quite well
general store sells fishing gear
has that candy counter smell
It’s just a one road town
this place where I grew up
where I used to hang ‘round
when I was a young pup
Got married and moved on now
it’s a new world that we’ve found
Had to get out of here somehow
‘cause it’s just a one road town
We’re back to take a look
‘cause our memories are here
Like that little kiss I took
when I sneaked my first beer
Now that girl is my wife
we’ve come back for a visit
get a taste of our old life
see just how much we miss it
(Chorus)
Seems there ain’t no place like home
true no matter where that is
You don’t know it ‘til you roam
then you make a trip like this
(Chorus)
Yeah, it’s just a one road town

ROUND HERE
‘Round Here
(verse)
Hear sweet music playin’…while my mind is strayin’,
floating on the wind…‘cross the Caribbean.
I’m an old Islands Joe…nowhere better to go,
it’s no reason for cyrin’…not leaving, not tryin’
I just like lyin’
(chorus)
‘Round here,
we only do what we choose.
‘Round here,
nobody singing the blues.
Got blue raspberry tea,
blue skies, blue sea.
I’m happy, I am me,
I like me to be,
‘round here.
(verse)
When the sun goes down…my mind won’t go round,
‘bout some far away place…or the troubles they face.
If life here gets heavy…God built us a levy,
Just look up to see…night’s stars keepin’ me.
keeping me,
(chorus)
(Bridge)
Just sittin’ here chillin’…It’s fittin’, I’m willin’
I’ve got the feelin’…I’ll always be bein’,

REAL COUNTRY COWBOY
Real Country Cowboy
I been dragged down, ragged out, flat busted,
had my heart worked over by the best of them.
Got fooled by smooth talkin’ men I trusted,
Now I’ve sent ‘em on their way, I put up a fence.
Aint’ gonna be another playboy by my side,
Want a good man, one I know won’t roam.
Yeah, I went and got wise, now I realize,
I need a real, country cowboy all my own.
(Cho) Don’t want no picture window, greenhorn again.
This time I’m gonna find me a genuine,
horse ridin, pickup drivin’, hangs around ‘til the sun comes up,
a stands tall beside me when the times get rough,
Real Country Cowboy, kind of man.
Need a fits right, hangs tight, dreamy eyes,
man riddin’ true love in the saddle with me.
Ain’t no cityfied cowboys dressed up in lies,
could ever be the kind of man I need.
It’s gonna take a country reared, God fearing, man,
before I’ll hand my heart back over again.
The kind that knows what I like, who I am;
the kind that cares and wants to understand.
(Repeat Cho)
(Bridge) A real cowboy knows who he is, he can see,
he ain’t still tryin’ to figure out who he should be.
(Repeat Cho)
A Real Country Cowboy,
I need me, a Real, Country Cowboy,

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS
Serious Side Effects
(Verse)
Didn't have a warnin label to say;
she is dangerous when kissed.
Had no prescription when I did that day;
wasn't any way I could resist.
Thought I was Superman 'fore I met her;
now I’m soft as a powder puff.
I’m addicted and there ain't no cure.
Why can’t I ever get enough? But,
(Chorus)
Serious side effects
She comes with serious side effects.
She makes me a nervous wreck.
Sends me reelin with serious side effects
(Verse)
I see her and my heart skips a beat;
get all sweaty and my body shakes.
My brain turns into a tub of mincemeat.
I’m a mess for goodness sakes.
My legs wobble when I try to walk;
I’m afraid I’m gonna fall.
My tongue gets stuck ev'ry time I talk;
I can barely speak at all. From,

What she does to me, the law should not allow! Those,

Ain’t no high heels in her world
She’s a blue jeans kind of girl
Wears a red plaid top, a Stetson hat
Tony Llama boots and all of that
Chases cans on her 15 hand mare
Just 14 seconds and she’ll be there
She’s my cowgirl
She’s a barrel racin
Pole bendin
Key holin lady
God fearin
child rearin
home makin baby
She’s ev’rything I need
and I don’t say maybe
She’s my cowgirl
She helps me to run our farm
Has a sure hand and a strong arm
She can drive a tractor just fine
She can run our new combine
She’s an ace on the hay bailer
can back up a full horse trailer
She’s my cowgirl

Couldn’t have done no better than who I found

SINCE I FOUND YOU
Since I Found You
Verse:
Love dropped me right on my heart.
Was a broken and troubled man.
Had no trust, believin was hard.
The original doubting Dan.
When I met you I drew a fine line.
You crossed over it tenderly.
Don’t know why you dared to be mine.
But I’m so glad you’re lovin’ me.
(Cho) Since I found you,
my heart is mended,
I’m loving like brand new.
Since I found you,
my search has ended,
my wanting days are through.
I’m amazed with this feeling;
my heart is reeling!
My dreams have all come true,
since I found you!
Verse:
Surrendered to you on one knee,
really wasn’t much of a fight.
Once I came to see the truth of me,
‘cause you shed your loving light.
Never look back to what was.
Don’t miss what used to be.
I’m so happy just because,
I have you here with me.

Put a whole new world into my eyes,
a bright new world I never knew.
Want to paint I love you ‘cross the skies,

SMOKEY MOUNTAIN MORNINGS
Smokey Mountain Mornin’s
(verse)
Waitin’ at a bus stop, daydreams fill my mind,
See me on a mountain top; put this crazy world behind.
Get lost in my yesterdays, was a young boy feelin’ free.
In a land of golden sunrays, Blue Jays, and tall Pine Trees.....
(chorus)
Smokey Mountain mornin’s, wakin’ to a brand new world.
Fog lifts from the land, and God’s paintings are unfurled.
Feels like I’m in Heaven, peaceful bein’ there ag’in.
Like I’ve been reborn in, sweet Smokey Mountain Mornin’s
(verse)
I just close my eyes, then I’m right back there again,
Smell the hick’ry burnin, see sparks flyin in the wind.
Crystal river rollin’, makes sweet music in the night.
Watch the sun a risin’, water sparkles in the light.
(chorus)
(bridge)
Bus comin’ down the road now, there goes my peace of mind.
I’ll get in my seat, settle down, I’ll be goin’ back to find,

SPIRIT OF THE RODEO
Spirit of The Rodeo
Grandpa and my Great Uncle Bob, ran a rodeo out in Denver.
And my dad grew up with the rodeo, was the best thing he could remember.
But Grandpa was killed by a bucking horse, and Uncle Bob was getting too old.
Dad said we had to do something different, find another way we could go.
So my dad took a look at what all we had, he said, “there has got to be a way,
for us to sell the stuff from the rodeo, and find something that will get us paid.”
He said “I have an idea how to make a living, and keep our family fed.
And Dad said Grandpa may be gone, but the rodeo spirit aint dead.
Chorus: Now its an 18 wheeler rolling down the road,
and my dad on his way with another load,
hauling anything he can just to make a buck,
to feed our family and to pay for that truck.
And he believes Grandpa’s riding at his side.
They found a way to keep the rodeo alive.
In a big black Kenworth always on the go,
that he calls, Spirit of the Rodeo.
A golden lasso sits ‘round gold-trimmed red letters that say “Spirit of the Rodeo”
with another sign that says “Pop and Son Trucking” in smaller letters below.
With black puffs of smoke from the silver stacks, she’s like a big old snorting bronc.
He drops the clutch and the Spirit leaps off, with a mighty roaring air horn honk.
Now Dad only comes home once in a while, and before long he’s already gone.
Seems like he’s always the “rider up,” as the big Rodeo rolls on.
We all have to deal with some hard times in life, and it’s easy to take a fall.
But that big black Kenworth truck of his, is how we shake our fist at it all.
(Repeat Chorus then tag)
That he calls, Spirit of… the Rodeo.
(Repeat to fade)
And they ride________.
Roll on Rodeo; and they ride____________.
Roll on Rodeo; and they ride____________.

Ridin down the old farm lane
‘cross meadows, through the woods
Watchin farmers harvest grain

Got my life, my truck, and got my girl
Takin our time, don’t give a hoot

Now we could hit the highways
get to where we’re goin fast
But we’d miss all the byways
with memories that last, So…

ain’t never in no hurry
We don’t rush to get things done
Don’t sit around and worry, So…

THANK YOU JACK
Thank You Jack
Life used to be simple but it ain’t no more, it’s gettin’ harder all the time.
What’s right today, won’t be right tomorrow, it can drive you out of your mind.
Everything’s changing. Seems nothing stays the same, things are different every day.
But down South in Lynchburg, Mr. Daniels keeps it going, in the same ole Tennessee way.
Cho: Thank you Jack!
for times remembered,
good friend you have been true.
And thank you Jack,
for keeping old Tennessee,
in every little bit of you.
Don’t change Jack,
no not the bottle,
and not the label too.
Yeah thank you Jack,
for keeping old Tennessee,
in every little bit of you.
There’s a cabin for sale, just up the road from Jack, right on down at Ledford Mill.
With green grass, and clear spring water, and some sweet low rolling hills.
If I had the money, then I could have that place, and I know right where I’d go.
Me and ole Jack Daniels, we’d sit down by the creek, and we’d watch that waterfall flow.

THAT MAKES TWO OF US
That Makes Two of Us
(Copyright 2020, David Alan Johnson)
Ain’t nothin’ I wanna be…except I wanna be with you
Ain’t nothin’ I wanna see…but to see it be “us two”
Love like ours is hard to find…people search their whole lives through
So baby you’re always on my mind…and I’ll swear this to you
If you want someone who truly cares
That makes two of us
If you think we make the perfect pair
That makes two of us
If you wanna share our lives together
Dance among the stars forever
Ooh baby….. that makes two of us
We can weather any storm…we’re as solid as steel
I’ll keep you safe and warm…baby…trust that I’m for real
I know that you’re for me…I know that I’m for you
As far as I can see…there’s just one thing we should do
Chorus
I’ll put a ring on your left hand
If you will have me too
We’ll do what we think God has planned
Forever me and you
Chorus
mmmm… that makes two of us.

THAT OLD TRUCK OF MINE
He’s just an old pickup truck
and some folks think he’s junk
‘Cause he’s gotten full of rust
and he’s got a bit of funk
But right there’s where
my baby used to sit
and I don’t really care
to ever forget it
That truck is where we first kissed
we were parked down at the river
she got to me, I couldn't resist
I’ve always loved being with her
Many nights we laid in back and talked
with the stars shining bright above
but I must admit the nights that rocked
were the ones when we made love
Yes, we surely had some good times
in that old truck of mine
I named him Sherman long ago
he was like a Sherman tank
Looked fine ‘fore he grew old
but he’s gotten pretty rank
So he sits there all alone now
a monument to memories past
Yet I think one day somehow
‘ole Sherman will be back
(Chorus)
Yeah, I’ll fix him up again one day
get him back out on the street
But until then I guess he’ll stay
mostly just a memory
(Chorus)
Yeah, in that old truck of mine --- END ---

Whether it’s a hug;
me holdin you close.
Us layin on the rug,

THE MAN I NEVER KNEW
The Man I Never Knew
(Verse)
Just a couple faded memories,
of some times so long ago.
But that’s all that’s left for me,
from the father that I know.
Heard he left us for a better life,
seems he needed to be free.
Two lost children and a heart-broke wife,
that’s just, how it was to be.
(Chorus)
Here I go,
I’m thinking back again.
Never know,
what happened way back then.
Never be,
a chance to mend the fence.
Dad is gone;
the truth is too.
Both passed on;
with the man I never knew.
(Verse)
A short while before he died,
we wrote a couple times.
Tried to set anger aside,
but I wasn’t very kind.
Was a child that grew up mad,
really hurting deep inside.
Thought so much about my dad,
feelings that I had to hide.
(Repeat Cho)
(Bridge)
It’s too late to change things now,
though I really wish I could.
I forgive him, I’ve learned how,
and I’ve learned it, that I should.
(Repeat Cho)
(Tag)
Yeah, both passed on with the man I never knew.

THE MAN SHE'S WAITED FOR
The Man She’s Waited For
(Verse)
She wrote you a letter;
one you’d never read.
You were gone and left her,
with her heart full of grief.
(Verse)
She wondered what to do,
with all her hopes and dreams.
Seemed like all she knew,
was what losing you means.
(Chorus 1)
That woman full of love,
so eternal and so true.
What she was thinking of,
was how badly she missed you.
And as the years went by,
she wrote a little more.
With each new line she’d cry,
for the man she’s waited for.
(Verse)
She wrote how much she loved you;
that she hurt since you’ve been gone.
She wrote how much she needed you,
what she thought had gone wrong.
(Verse)
One line was marked eleven years,
and another said twenty-two.
Many thoughts and many tears;
they were all for loving you.
(Repeat Cho 1)
She didn’t know you were that ill.
Said you never did let on.
But that morning you were cold and still.
She reached, but you were gone.
(Chorus 2)
That woman full of love,
so eternal and so true.
What she was thinking of,
was how badly she missed you.
But her time has finally come.
She’s standing at Heaven’s door.
Her forever has begun,
with the man she’s waited for.
The man she’s waited for.

THE MASTER OF BODY TALK
The Master of Body Talk
(Verse)
The way she moves;
ev’ry step she takes,
Has a special groove,
with a tempting shake.
(Lift)
She’s a weapon of mass seduction.
Screamin out loud with her construction!
(Chorus)
Ain’t like the other girls,
This woman owns the streets.
She’s rockin out my world.
What an eye-poppin treat, yeah.
Ain’t just a super sexy walk.
She’s the master, of body talk.
Yeah of body talk.
(Verse)
It’s a kind of language,
made of motion so fine.
So perfectly seductive.
She’s blowin my mind.
(Lift)
Looks dangerous as a loaded gun.
But I ain’t afraid and I won’t run.
(Repeat Cho)
(Bridge)
Yeah, her body screams!
like it has so much to say.
No mistakin what it means,
she’s the master, yeah the master, that way!

of body talk.

THE ONE MAN
She sits quiet in her wheelchair
With a big smile on her face
Looks like she don’t have a care
Her mind’s some other place
No hint of what she’s thinkin’
Just a little hum now and then
Next thing she starts to winkin’
Does it time and time again
Suddenly she’ll call his name
Looks to Heaven up above
Then she whispers out the same
For the one man that she loved
In their younger days they were both show dancers
Each one always played their part
But she never got the answers
For the questions in her heart
So she reaches up her hand for him
As if they’re about to dance
But then she pulls it back again
‘Cause she never got the chance
(Chorus)
No they never got together
He was shot by a jealous man
But she can still remember
So she’s dreaming of their dance
(Chorus)
The one man that she loved

THERE AINT NO FUTURE IN THE PAST
There Aint No Future In The Past
Verse:
Took a ride up the I nine five.
East Coast highway for a little drive.
Traveled slow and took our time.
Side tripped to that Annapolis town
Quaint little bar on a corner I found.
Old jukebox was still just a dime.
Was a strange tune I had never heard.
Said it was Captain Hiram’s word!
Thought I would give it a try.
Pressed A1, and a record spun.
Thought I was gonna hear a song.
Was an old sea salt gone bye. Said,
Chorus:
There aint no future in the past.
Gotta move ahead and don’t look back.
Guide your ship from the tallest mast!
And don’t believe your fate is cast!
‘Cause there aint no future in the past.
Verse:
Thought about it for a moment or two.
While we sat talking and drinking our brew.
Then I played that A1 again.
Seemed to make a lot of good sense.
Worth the extra dime I just spent.
And then I got out my pen. Wrote,
(Repeat Chorus)
Simple enough, I thought.
But those words had me caught.
Little wisdom’s what I bought.
I could take it all in or not. No
(Repeat Chorus)
Tag:
No, there aint no future in the past.

THERE WILL BE A TIME
There Will Be A Time
verse-
Life is hard…These troubling days.
Must be on guard…hope and pray.
Seems Satan’s bought…so many souls.
World is caught…in evil goals.
For times like this, believin’s what I do.
‘Cause there are times, only faith can get me through.
chorus-
In this life of tribulation...I can live in celebration
‘Cause it’s in the revelation...
There..will…be… a…time…
there will be a time…
Yes, Lord I know…there will be a time
verse-
Clouds will burst…then smoke and flames.
When He returns…from where He came.
Son of Man…comes back for us.
It’s in the plan…no use to fuss.
For times like this, believin’s what I do.
‘Cause there are times, only faith can get me through.
chorus-
bridge-
He’ll be here again…it’s somethin that I know...
Just can’t tell you when...but it’s clear the seeds are sown
Chorus-
Tag: Ohhhhhhh, Yes Lord I know, there will be a time.
Ewwwwwwwwwwwww

TO BE IN LOVE AGAIN
To Be In Love Again
(Verse)
My heart’s been burned and torn,
but from those ashes I’m reborn!
While it’s taught me many things,
I still have my hopes and dreams!
(Chorus)
To be in love again.
While I don’t know where or when.
I’ll trust and let him in!
That’s how it will begin!
My heart’s an open door.
Won’t hold back anymore.
I need a new best friend, and,
to be in love again.
(Verse)
I don’t know how we’ll meet.
Maybe walking down the street!
Could be on a dating site?
Or a subway train one night?
(Pre)
We can talk…just us two.
Cause it would be so good…
(Repeat chorus)
(Pre)
And as time goes passing by,
It will feel so right…
(Repeat chorus)
(End)
Oh, to be in love again.

TOGETHER WE HAVE IT ALL
Together We Have It All (Duet)
(M-1st) Heard some folks thought we’d never make it,
We weren’t strong enough, we’d split.
But we’ve been concrete, rock solid my dear,
and I ain’t seein’ no end, anywhere near.
(F-2nd) We built our castle, together from the start.
Mortared our walls with cement from the heart.
Furnished up with a loving, our-place feel.
Down home, country people, kind of deal.
(Cho Both) We may not have it all together,
but together we have it all.
(M-1st) It’s a crazy world out there, but we have our oasis.
Live in sweet calmness, keep smiles on our faces.
With our eyes to the skies, but our feet on the ground.
Nothin’ gets between us, could ever bring us down.
(F-2nd) We’ve had our own troubles, we worked ‘em all out.
Not hard to solve problems when love has no doubt.
Shared everything, been both taker and giver.
Trusted God’s plan, we’ve flowed with the river.
(Repeat Cho)
(Bridge) (M-1st) Nobody’s perfect, but you’re perfect for me.
(F-2nd) Can’t ask for more, when life’s good as can be.
(Repeat Cho 4 times then fade out)

TONIGHT I WANNA LAY WITH YOU
(Verse)
Let's steal us some time,
we’ll make it all ours;
Kick back and unwind,
count some fallin' stars.
(Lift)
Go high up on the mountain,
where we can be alone. Then...
(Chorus)
Tonight I wanna lay with you;
to curl up close by the fire!
To do just what we wanna do;
whatever our hearts desire.
I’ll wish our time could last forever,
as I look into your eyes,
and we wrap our bodies tight together,
‘neath the moonlit skies.
Tonight I wanna lay with you.
(Verse)
Yes before this night can end,
I’ll wanna hold you close.
To kiss you and kiss you again,
from your head down to your toes.
(Lift)
Who needs the birds? Who needs the bees?
When I’ve got you and you’ve got me! Yeah,
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
Mm mm mm mm baby yeah.
Mm mm mm mm mm mmm yeah. 'Cause...
(Repeat Chorus)
(End)
Yeah, tonight I wanna lay with you!

Got a campfire burnin.
Fresh ice cream churnin.
Marshmallows roastin on a stick.
Cookin dogs on spears.
Breakin out cold beers.
Poppin tops and feelin slick.
(Chorus)
Over the hill and through the creek.
We can’t wait to do this ev’ry week!
Run our four-wheeler trucks and ATVs,
while we’re holdin on to our fav’rite squeeze.
Come Saturday morning, be ready bud!
We’ll get ‘em all cranked up, and we’ll sling some mud.
(Verse)
Got Benny jammin.
with his guitar slammin.
Blowing rifts across the lake.
Sharon’s on her fiddle.
Billy’s drummin in the middle.
And the music’s soundin great!
(Repeat Cho)
(Bridge)
We have a great time out in those woods.
Beats hangin ‘round our neighborhoods.
Stayin out of trouble, the sheriff he don’t care;
‘cause half the time he’s with us there!
(Repeat Cho)
(End)
We’ll sling some mud.

WHAT HE TAUGHT ME
(Verse)
Dad said I had to bait my own hook
He showed me how to hook a worm
And the first few times what it took
was a struggle with how they squirm
But I learned to do it right
I learned how to fish
If I had my way tonight
here’s what I’d wish
(Chorus)
I’d love to live those days again
and to have my father back
to see him with a big ‘ole grin
lookin out his sleepin bag
And cookin trout for breakfast
in the campfire right at dawn
We were building memories that last
what he taught me all along
(Verse)
There was smoke in the crispy mornin air
while the cracklin fire burnt on
I can still remember me right there
like the words to my fav’rite song
There’s no way I could forget
the happy look in his eyes
Yeah we watched the sun set
but he really loved the sunrise
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
I’m thankful to remember so many precious things
And I’m thankful for the feelings that those memories bring
(Chorus)
(End)
Yeah, what he taught me all along --- END ---

WHISKEY TALK
In the mornin when I wake up
will you send me down the road
Bourbon shots led to a shakeup
now you’re angry and you’re cold
We drank too much and said some things
chased that whiskey with harsh words
So now what the mornin brings
I guess we both deserve, But…
I’m so sorry for what I said Girl
believe me 'cause it's true
Babe you’re my whole world
I can’t see me without you
You said you are done with me
told me to take a walk
Come the mornin I will see
was that just, whiskey talk
All these years together
we’ve never even had a fight
We were both Hell bent for leather
we were gonna scrap tonight
But I ain’t worried about blame
‘cause we both played our parts
Now we’ll never be the same
we shot holes in our own hearts, And…
(Chorus)
I didn’t like this fight tonight
and I sure don’t want to go
Me sleepin on this couch ain’t right
and you really need to know
(Chorus)
Yeah, was that just, whiskey talk
Just, whiskey talk

YOU BROUGHT MY WILD SIDE OUT
You Brought My Wild Side Out
(Verse)
Baby, I didn’t know what I was getting into.
Opened up a whole new world when I found you.
Seems like I really wasn’t ready for this.
How could it all start with just one little kiss?
Now, do you know what you have gone and done?
I’m left hoping that you won’t pick up and run.
(Chorus)
You brought my wild side out!
It’s all your doing, no doubt!
I can’t keep my hands to myself.
But I want you and no one else.
Showed me what love is all about.
Darling, you brought my wild side out!
(Verse)
Hate to think of all the time I wasted before.
Really thought that I knew love ‘til I tasted yours.
Now I’m crazy with desire, out of my mind;
a spring-loaded tiger only you could unwind.
Just want to claw your clothes and crawl all over you.
Tonight sweetheart let’s make love the whole night through.
(Repeat Cho)
(Bridge)
Found there is an animal inside of me.
It seems that you went and set it free.
Oh, that was a dangerous thing to do.
Now there’s no way I can get enough of you.
(Repeat Cho)
(End)
And I hope you like it!
I know what love is all about.
Darling, you brought my wild side out!

FOREVER AND MORE
They were young, but they believed.
in their hearts, they both could see.
They were meant to be together,
knew true love would last forever.
They were close, holdin’ hands,
on that bridge where they made plans.
In their reflection on the water,
he slipped on, the ring he bought her.
(Cho 1) Then a sudden breeze blew,
picture gone before they knew,
was too fragile to endure.
Perhaps it was winds of change,
no way to be sure.
But they would love each other,
they both knew, forever and more.
Young man was a soldier,
soon he went away to war.
On that bridge, alone she read,
his first letter, where he said...
(Cho 2) Then a sudden breeze blew,
letter gone before she knew,
it went into the water.
Perhaps it was winds of change,
no way to be sure.
But they would love each other,
they both knew, forever and more.
Then one day came a man,
in uniform, and in his hand,
a letter holding all her fears,
the sky rained down with her tears.
(Cho 3) On that bridge, alone again,
she stood there lookin’ in,
to her reflection on the water.
Threw that letter to the wind,
said she’d love him like before.
With a broken heart that never mends,
she knew, forever and more.

It’s a short drive
to you drivin me crazy
But man alive

Got your feet flyin
your hips in a swing

What comes over me

JESUS FREAKS
When I was just a little kid
we called them Jesus freaks
All those bible thumpers did
was run around and preach
We thought they looked down on us
always tellin us how to be
Like they were from up high above
were better than you and me
Jesus freaks
We didn’t understand
Jesus freaks
believers in the Man
Always tellin you and me
that we needed to believe
Even though we couldn’t see
the truth of what it means
Said we have to trust in God and Son
be saved ‘fore our life is done
It’s a matter of where we’ll spend eternity
Jesus freaks
I grew up and learned to listen
to what those people had to say
And I learned what I was missin
in my younger, foolish days
Now I’m a believer too
I’m proud to say I am
And it makes me feel better
to trust in the Son of Man
(Chorus)
Yes we have to trust in God and Son
be saved ‘fore our life is done
It’s a matter of where we‘ll spend eternity
Jesus freaks
Yeah, Jesus freaks
Us Jesus freaks

WHAT 'CHA THINK ABOUT THAT
(Verse)
Woke up this morning to a brand new day
I praise the Lord that I’ve found my way
Getting older beats the alternative
Thankful for each day that I get to live
Get up and get moving there’s so much to do
Got to get it all done ‘fore the day is through
Then tonight I’ll relax and just kick back
I’ll think about this and think about that
(Chorus)
Got one more day, above the ground
I found my way, I’m still around
The Lord gave me, another try
In the mirror I see, I’m still alive
Hope to get old, one day at a time
Ain’t ready to fold, these cards of mine
So the games go on, now I’m up to bat
Gonna make a home run, what ‘cha think about that
(Verse)
Got ev’rything that I’ll ever need
Know when I go, it won’t go with me
So all that really matters is the memories
Need a following wind and all calm seas
I celebrate each day with no regrets
I keep things cool and don’t make bets
I can trust in me to do things right
have no problem getting sleep at night
(Repeat Chorus)
(End)
Yeah, hope to get old, one day at a time
Ain’t ready to fold, these cards of mine
So the games go on, now I’m up to bat
Gonna make a home run, what ‘cha think about that
Oh Yeah, what 'cha think about that --- END ---

LET'S RUN AWAY
(Verse)
That picture on our wall
we should both be there
Can hear that cabin call
smell sweet, mountain air
Can build us a fire
Lay on a furry rug
Run with our desire
Maybe make love
(Chorus)
Let’s run away
to that better place
Let’s go today
let’s both escape
from ev’rything
from ev’ryone
What do you say
Let’s run away
(Verse)
I know it’s up there
that cabin’s for real
By that crystal lake
let’s relax, let’s chill
We’ll be there together
be just you and me
We’ll want to stay forever
just wait and you’ll see
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
In just a couple hours
we can be up there
with wild flowers
we can pick and share
(Repeat Chorus)
(End)
Yeah baby let’s run away
Let’s run away

EAGLES FLY ALONE
(Verse)
Were I a sheep within a flock
to follow close and walk their walk
I think my life would be at ease
and maybe I would have my peace. But…
(Chorus)
While I’m just another name
You’ll find that I’m not the same
I dare to be a different kind of soul
No I don’t follow like a sheep
Got my integrity to keep
and I know that eagles fly alone
(Verse)
Yes I was born a rebel soul
To be me is my simple goal
I fly my flag high in the wind
I’ll do my way ‘til my end
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
I’ve fought and won battles before
I’m strong enough to do it more
But I hope to find an empty branch
a peaceful home where I can land
(Repeat Chorus)
(End)
Yes I know that eagles fly alone
--- END ---

DO YOU KNOW THAT YOU FELL IN LOVE
(Verse)
You said he was just a good friend baby
that nothin was going on
Said it over and over again lately
like professin that somethin was wrong
I could tell there was much more to it
by the way that you acted round him
Deny the truth, but girl that don’t get it
when your heart just can’t pretend
(Chorus)
I can see that you’re in love
wonder when did it all begin
What is it that you’re thinking of
when the two of us hang around him
Are you gonna face the truth of it
would you admit it to God above
What do you tell yourself about it
do you know that you fell in love
do you know that you fell in love
(Verse)
You know I ain’t no mind reader baby
I wonder what you already know
And I’m beginnin to wonder maybe
you’re with him when I’m not at home
I see the way that you look at each other
girl you ain't in love alone
You’ve given your heart to another
Babe I know it’s already gone
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
I wonder who’s gonna break it out
Who will stand up and tell the truth
This really can’t go on much longer
Girl there’s two men in love with you
(Repeat Chorus)
(End)
Yeah baby I can see right through it
Do you know that you fell in love
--- END ---

YOU'RE DANGEROUS
(Verse)
Darlin, one look at you
you made my head spin
Didn’t know what to do
but I had to look again
Perfect as a woman can be
But could be a demon from Hell
Only took one look to get to me
Put me right under your spell. And…
(Chorus)
You’re dangerous, it’s easy to see
but I like to live on the edge
So you won’t have to work to capture me
you couldn’t split me off with a wedge
You’re hot as molten steel
and I’m sure you will burn
But the way you make me feel
that’s a lesson I’m ready to learn
(Verse)
Tattoos up and down your body
You’ve got you some piercings too
But darlin you ain’t shoddy
You’re classy and you’re cool
Just watching you on the dance floor
Damn girl you sure got some moves
I know what that body is good for
The way you shake it baby it proves
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
So girl let’s go
come dance with me
And you should know
don’t need no birds or bees. Cause…
(Repeat Chorus)
(End)
Yeah, you’re dangerous
--- END ---

GOD'S GREAT GIFTS
(Verse)
Some people can sing
Some people can write
We all do our own thing
Whatever feels right
We all long to find
why we are here
And if life is kind
it all comes clear
(Chorus)
God’s great gifts
to each of us
give us our place
in life’s tour bus
The talent we have
we take for the ride
It gives us our reason
and our balance (or "value") in life
(Verse)
Whether we entertain
or we create fine art
Work with our hands
or work with our smart
There’s something we can do
and we can do it well
It makes us happy too
and the world can tell
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
Don’t know about you
but I know about me
I know what I can do
what I want to be
(Repeat Chorus)
(End)
Yes we all get, God’s great gifts
--- END ---

HE BRINGS HER FLOWERS
(Verse)
His lady loves flowers
They put a smile on her face
So he gives her showers
of rose petals and lace
Nothing matters to him
But to see her beam
When she wears a grin
it means everything. So…
(Chorus)
He brings her flowers
he can see her smile
He puts them down
they talk for a while
He tells her he loves her
that he will for all time
that wanting to see her
drives him out of his mind
(Verse)
God made her an angel
born in golden light
a gift straight from Heaven
puts his heart in flight
He’s lost and he’s lonely
When she’s not around
She’s his one and only
true love that he found. And…
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
He knows that he’ll join her
up in Heaven one day
Then they’ll have forever
back together to stay. So…
(Repeat Chorus)
(End)
Yes, he brings her flowers
--- END ---

HE'S A L.A.D.I.E.S MAN
(Verse)
Not that he’s a vain man
that he thinks a lot of him
But he spends all the time he can
builds himself up at the gym
He flexes in all the mirrors
muscles are big as his head
and it couldn’t be much clearer
from the notches in his bed
(Chorus)
He’s a L-A-D-I-E-S man
gets all the girls he wants
They like his bad boy sand
how he dances and he flaunts
Guess he must know something
he works some kind of plan
All the women will say one thing
He’s a L-A-D-I-E-S man
(Verse)
They know him all around town
he likes to party and to dance
And they know he gets around
but the girls all want their chance
‘Cause he’s got a reputation
he’s all a woman could need
gives a one-night visitation
in the morning they are freed
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
They line up to dance with him
hoping he will take them home
One girl every night gets in
to be queen of his honeycomb
(Repeat Chorus)
(End)
Yes, he’s a L-A-D-I-E-S man
--- END ---

I AIN'T GONNA CRY
(Verse)
You packed up your stuff
and loaded up your car
Said you’ve had enough
said I went too far
I didn’t mean to upset you
didn’t mean to do a thing
you slapped me in the face too
oh man did that sting. But…
(Chorus)
I ain’t gonna cry about you walking away
No I won’t shed a tear just ‘cause you didn’t stay
You might have broke my heart if I was sober today
But I ain’t gonna cry about you walking away
(Verse)
Happens that you drove me
to me drinking like I do
That just happens to be
how I tolerated you
Yeah, my dog’s a bitch too
but she’s loving and sweet
She ain’t nothing like you
even when she’s in heat. So…
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
Another round, I won’t even remember your name
You can go back to Hell or from wherever you came
(Repeat Chorus)
(End)
No, I ain’t gonna cry about you walking away
--- END ---

I DIDN'T HAVE YOU
(Verse)
I didn’t have big problems
thought I was doing fine
Like roses have thorny stems
had a few thorns of mine
Life wasn’t all perfect
but I was doing well
Seemed ev’rything clicked
as far as I could tell
(Lift)
But when you came into my life
then I knew what wasn’t right
(Chorus)
I didn’t have you…
was blind, I couldn’t see
I didn’t have you…
to wake up next to me
I didn’t have you…
to spend my days with too
Turns out life was not so cool
‘cause, I didn’t have you…
(Verse)
When you came along
you filled a gap in my soul
You were like a love song
that made me feel whole
Now I can’t imagine
my life without you
Without your passion
what would I do. When…
(Repeat Chorus)
(End)
was blind, I couldn’t see
I didn’t have you…
to wake up next to me
I didn’t have you…
to spend my days with too
Turns out life was not so cool
‘cause, I didn’t have you…
No, I didn’t have you
--- END ---

I NEED YOU
(Verse)
Darling, like a crop needs a rain
Like a track needs a train
Like a flower needs a bee
Like a bird needs a tree…
(Chorus)
I need you…
Babe, I swear it’s true
You’re the person I can’t be
I’m the lock and you’re the key
You’re the other half of me
Girl (Boy), you’re everything I need
Oh, what can I do
I need you…
(Verse)
I’m a pile of wood without you babe
We’re a bonfire, you’re the flame
You’re the light of my sunny day
You guide me on my way…
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
Some things just belong together
and I want that to be us forever…
(Repeat Chorus)
(End)
Yes, I need you
I need you
I need you
--- END ---

IF MY HEART LIED
(Verse)
Broken wine glass on the floor
said you don’t want me no more
Hurts me deep to hear you say
now you want me to go away
How is it that your heart turned black
We were so in love when I look back
Now it seems like all we do is fight
it’s gone so wrong what was so right
(Chorus)
Stars still shine like they did before
Moonlight shadows on the sandy shore
There on the beach where we made love
covered by nothing but the sky above
And the waves still whisper like they did
How can we ever forget it
I couldn’t even if I tried
I’ll be damned, if my heart lied
(Verse)
Tomorrow will you feel the same
will you still think I’m to blame
For all that’s gone wrong with us
why we both just fight and fuss
Can’t we turn this back around
can the love we lost be found
Can tomorrow be a brighter day
is it possible we’ll find a way
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
What happens to our hopes and dreams
our wants and wishes, all those things
Does it all just disappear
Will this smoke ever clear
(Repeat Chorus)
(End)
If my heart lied.
--- END ---

IT'S CLEAR TO SEE
(Verse)
Then, life was a mountain I couldn’t climb
My purpose just wasn’t quite clear
Then, I struggled as if I were blind
for the reason why I was here
(Build)
Then, I was still too young to see
and I didn’t know what to do
Then, a wishing well sprung on me
and all of the sudden I knew, So…
(Chorus)
Now, I feel like a blossoming rose
and I’ve grown in all that I am
People know me wherever I go
and I’ve come to understand
While I’m not so young anymore
God did have a reason for me
Now, I know what my life is for
Yes, it’s clear to see…
(Verse)
Now, I’ve sung my way to reach my dreams
with each song I had something to say
And I know that’s what my life means
So I’ve become who I am today. And…
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
So I’ve traveled my own road this far
But I’ve had help along the way
And you all know who you are
I’m thankful for you ev’ry day. And…
(Repeat Chorus)
(End)
Oh yes, it's clear to see
Yes, it's clear to see

LOVING YOU
(Verse)
This morning when I woke up
I saw you next to me
Thought my heart would stop
I could barely breathe
The night we had last night
making love the way we did
Darlin, it all felt so right
and I’ll never forget it
(Chorus)
Loving you
You made me feel brand new
Like I’ve never loved before
Now I know what I want to do
Darling, I want more
Loving you
Loving you
(Verse)
You knew just what I needed
You held me perfectly
I tingled from my head to feet
Oh, what you did to me
Every move was magic
Together we were great
Now it seems so tragic
I’ve never felt this way
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
I’m awake
and this dream hasn’t stopped
For goodness sake
this feeling can’t be topped
(Repeat Chorus)
(End)
Oh loving you
Yes, loving you.

MOM TAUGHT US EVERYTHING
(Verse)
Mother had a pistol when she walked up to the door.
Through the other woman’s window, saw dad with her on the floor.
Mom dropped her head and turned away, the sky rained with her tears.
I’ve only seen Dad once since then, it’s been a lot of years.
Our dad moved somewhere far away, left us with just Mom.
I don’t know how she did it all, How could she be so strong?
She raised two hard boys by herself; we were an awesome chore.
But she stayed to be our mother, chose… to be much more.
(Chorus)
We didn’t have a daddy,
but we didn’t miss a thing.
We didn’t turn out badly,
‘Cause mom…..taught us ev’rything.
(Verse)
Mom made so little money that sometimes we almost starved.
Worked three jobs to get us by when times got rocky hard.
But we didn’t do without things dads teach their sons to do.
Mom always found time for us and taught us all she knew.
Mom taught us how to catch fish and she taught us how to swim.
She taught us things our dad should have, with no help from him.
Mom even taught us how to shoot, yes she could use a gun.
So glad she didn’t that dark night, or we, might not, have mom.
(Repeat Chorus twice)
(Tag) Mom……..taught us everything.

SHE TOLD ME 'BOUT HER HUSBAND
(Verse)
There’s a house at the end of the street
Used to go there when I was a kid
The old woman living there was so sweet
And I loved all the things she did
She made cookies and served me milk
Talked about when she was young
Was always dressed in satin and silk
The kind of clothes where she came from
(Chorus)
She told me ‘bout her husband
How he went off to a war
About the letters that he sent
And what he was fighting for
How much he loved this country
Cared for all its good and bad
How he came here to be free
When he was just a little lad
(Verse)
With him gone she lived her life alone
Oh, she was faithful ‘til her end
Stayed by herself in that big home
Said she was glad I was her friend
Then when I went off to college
She baked a nice, big cake
She was so sad that I had to leave
Said be careful for goodness sake. Then…
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
She died before I came home
But sent me letters before she did
And once in a while we talked on the phone
But she always would forget. And…
(Repeat Chorus)
(End)
Yeah, she told me ‘bout her husband
--- END ---

THAT CRACK
(Verse)
Little nats are flying all around the house
You wonder when you’re gonna see a mouse
Lizards and frogs come inside each day
You try to stop them but they find their way
(Chorus)
That crack at the bottom of the front door
Where all those creatures find your floor
You don’t want to let them come inside
and when they do you just want to hide
But nothing seems to put a stop to them
Though you try to block that crack again
(Verse)
Then you hear the crickets chirping loud
It seems they’ve gathered up a crowd
They’re laughing, they’re all in harmony
Oh how aggravating it can be
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
Maybe put some foam in there
Fill those cracks up everywhere…
(Repeat Chorus)
(End)
Oh damn, that crack!
--- END ---

THERE AIN'T NO WAY
People talkin stuff all about you baby
Say you ain’t never stuck with just one lady
You’re a man of many, known all around town
Keep comin on to me, but I shoot you down. Cause…
I ain’t gonna be another notch for you
Don’t matter what you say or what you do
Darlin, it ain’t never gonna be us two
Oh no, there ain’t no way I’ll be your fool
Yes, I know you are very persistent
But I’m even way more resistant
Won’t fall for any of your fancy talk
You might as well turn around and walk. No…
(Chorus)
Good looks or not, you won’t get to me
Your heart means more than what I see
So if you want to play, find someone else
I ain’t no toy that’s gonna line your shelf
I ain’t gonna be another notch for you
Don’t matter what you say or what you do
Darlin, it ain’t never gonna be us two
Oh no, there ain’t no way
No there ain’t no way, I’ll be your fool
There ain't no way

THOSE ALIENS NEXT DOOR
(Verse)
I don’t know what’s going on
lights flashing in the windows
hear strange noises all night long
smells funny when the wind blows
They never ever come outside
they’re a creepy mystery
Try to see them they just hide
won’t show themselves to me
(Chorus)
I swear I’ve got some aliens
living there next door
They don’t want to make friends
I won’t even try no more
Don’t know what they live on
they don’t go for groceries
No I haven’t met those aliens
that live next door to me
(Verse)
There’s no car in the drive
can’t see in the garage
There’s a keep-out sign
on their door in decoupage
I wonder if they have three eyes
or maybe have six arms
Do they eat cats for breakfast
and use their bones for charms
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
One day or night they’ll slip up
we’ll get a look at them
We’ll see what they look like
then the mystery will end
(Repeat Chorus)
(End)
Those aliens next door
--- END ---

WHAT THEY CAN'T SEE
They say you have a past
but I don’t really care
I’ve found my way at last
to a love I want to share
So nobody can tell me
I’m wrong to be with you
‘Cause baby I’m free
to do what I want to do. And…
I’ll take you as you are
you don’t need to change
You’re my wish upon a star
and while you may think it strange
I don’t care what they say
You’re who you are to me
They don’t matter anyway
I can’t help what they can’t see
Tomorrow is all ours
each day to eternity
forget about your scars
you’ll be safe with me
(Chorus)
Today is our beginning
it’s our very special day
and this ain’t the last inning
it’s time to play the game
(Chorus)
No, I cant’ help, what they can’t see
--- END ---

WHAT I WON'T DO
(Verse)
I won’t steal from the neighborhood store
and I won’t cuss in the name of the Lord
I won’t drive down the highway like a maniac
I won’t buy things, use ‘em, then take em back
(Chorus)
Yeah baby there’s a lot what I won’t do
But you know girl that I sure love you
To treat you bad I’d have to be a fool
That’s one of those things what I won’t do
(Verse)
Won’t lie to the boss about what I’ve done
Won’t screw something up then turn and run
I won’t drink too much when I get sad
I won’t scream at people if I get mad
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
Darling believe me
You know it’s true
Baby, can’t you see
I’d never hurt you
(Chorus)
(End)
Yeah, one of those things what I won’t do
--- END ---

WHO I AM WITHOUT YOU
(Verse)
I drink way too much
pour that whiskey down
Use it as a crutch
when you’re not around
I don’t take care of me
don’t watch what I do
What a mess I’d be
if I didn’t have you. That’s…
(Chorus)
Who I am without you
I don’t even care
But when we’re together
with the love that we share
I’m somebody else
I’m somebody new
I’m a much better me
than who I am without you
(Verse)
You make me see me
you don’t let me hide
from what I could be
with you by my side
Can’t do it alone
I’m just half a man
You’re the other half
of who I am.
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
You know I’d go insane
So I thank the Lord above
I’d be a runaway train
without your love. That’s…
(Part Chorus)
Who I am without you
I don’t even care
But when we’re together
with the love that we share
I’m somebody else
I’m somebody new
I’m a much better me
(Repeat Chorus)
(End)
Who I am without you

YOU TURNED MY WORLD AROUND
(Verse)
I didn’t know my place, or what I was to do.
and I didn’t know what my life was leading to.
But then the light came on, when you walked in the door,
then I knew where I was, what I’d been waiting for.
(Chorus)
Luck is finally on my side, and I’ll surely take my fill,
yes I’ll keep holding on to the love I’ve found.
It’s a high flight of the heart, a dance across the clouds;
Thank you darling, you turned my world around.
(Verse)
Now I long for my nights, for each day to be through,
cause it’s when the sun goes down that I’m next to you.
When the purpose in my life, comes so clear,
and I feel it every time you hold me near.
(Repeat Chorus)
Yeah
(Repeat Chorus)
(End)
It’s a high flight of the heart, a dance across the clouds;
Thank you darling, you turned my world around.

FOOTPRINTS ON MY HEART
(Verse)
You know you hurt me deep
when you up and walked away
Thought you were mine to keep
Found out the truth that day
You didn’t give a reason
You didn’t give a why
You just put on a freeze and
when I struggled not to cry
(Chorus)
You left footprints on my heart
seems they’ll never go away
Didn’t think we’d ever part
but I lost you that day
I didn’t see it coming
You tore my insides out
And all my friends are asking
what the Hell was that about
(Verse)
I pray that you’ll come back
but I know you never will
I’m sure about that
and it’s a bitter pill
Now I have to live without you
have to make it all alone
Not something that I want to do
in this empty feeling home
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
I watched you drive away
through my teary eyes
I can’t forget that day
or that terrible surprise
(Repeat Chorus)
(End)
Yeah, those footprints on my heart
Those footprints
--- END ---

WHO'S NEXT IN LINE V2
(Verse)
Things you said
I’ll never forget
Our love is dead
and girl I bet
You’re not alone
That line behind me
has moved up one
Now who could it be
(Chorus)
Who’s next in line
to get their heart broken
Will they be blind
to the lies you’ve spoken
You’ll tear them apart
just a matter of time
They’re doomed from the start
Who’s next in line
(Verse)
When you get tired
fooling the next guy
he’ll be retired
he’ll wonder why
Did what you did
the game goes on
They do your bid
you replay your song
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
The vamp you are
one day you’ll regret
Been lucky so far
ain’t backfired yet, no
But what goes around
will come back to you
Ev’ry man ain’t bound
to be your fool
(Repeat Chorus)
(End)
Oooh, who’s next in line, yeah
--- END ---

BEHIND THE BARN
(Verse)
There’s a place you’ve heard of
maybe a place where you’ve been
Might have gone there for love
Might have gone there for sin
That place where I got whooped
That place where I took my girl
Sometimes it was hell there
Sometimes it was my world
(Chorus)
Behind the barn
out of sight
It was wrong
It was right
I loved and I hated
all that went on
But I learned so much
there, behind the barn
(Verse)
Where I smoked dad’s cigar
got dizzy and got sick
Where I drank my first beer
and dad caught me with it
It’s where I learned a few things
Put a big smile on my face
Like what loving means
Found it in that place
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
Was hell when I was bad
But sometimes Heaven too
That backside of the barn
What does it mean to you
(Repeat Chorus)
(End)
Yeah, behind the barn

CAJUN COOKOUT
(Verse)
Momma’s cookin Gator
frying chunks of tail
Shrimp chillin in the fridgerator
boilin in a pail
Jambalaya’s all made up
we got sauteed crab claws
and the women folk won’t stop
until we eat it all
(Chorus)
It’s a Cajun cookout
a party goin down
And there ain’t no doubt
it’s a good time goin round
Dancin to the music
fiddles and guitars
Got a bonfire goin
underneath the twinklin stars
(Verse)
Boiled corn and Okra
It’s Louisiana fine
Crawfish in a big pile
enough to blow your mind
And there ain’t no lack of beer
we done cracked the first keg
We’re pourin brew and cheer
so ev’rybody shake a leg
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
Tonight is our night
Let’s let the good times roll
Take advantage of the moonlight
bring peace to your soul

It’s a Cajun cookout
a party’s going down

I'M AN OUTLAW
(Verse)
Riding down the highway
Carrying a load
Making money my way
this package has been sold
Can’t let the sheriff catch me
or I’m gonna land in jail
And I ain’t got nobody
to come and post my bail
(Chorus)
I’m an outlaw
Guess I’m a bad man
Just like my Pa
‘Ole Moonshine Dan
I run whiskey
I’m packing alcohol
That mountain dew
I run it all
(Verse)
It’ll cure what ails ya
so I ain’t all bad
It’ll take away
that cough you had
Like doctors said
in times gone bye
A shot of whiskey’s
mud in your eye
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
So please mister police man
don’t you touch my bags
You’d catch me if you can
but nobody ever has
I’ve been lucky
I’ve done real well
Following the Truckee
River to Hell
(Repeat Chorus)
(End)
I’m an outlaw
I run it all
Yeah, I run it all

THE SUN WILL RISE AGAIN
(Verse)
It’s not sunny ev’ry day
sometimes we need the rain
Greener grass depends upon it
that’s just nature’s way
The same is true with life
can’t be sunny all the time
We’re gonna have our troubles
you have yours and I have mine. But..,
(Chorus)
The sun will rise again
then tomorrow’s a new day
Fate may ride upon the wind
and our problems blow away
Yet, no matter how it seems
we live to fight and win
and we hold tight to our dreams
‘cause the sun will rise again
(Verse)
No matter what happens
time keeps marching on
Either our heart blackens
or we dance to the song
It’s all a choice we make
what music that we hear
Knowing life is give and take
we should hold sunshine near
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
Without rain what would it mean
to have a sunny day
We might not appreciate
when good times come our way
(Repeat Chorus)
(End)
Ew, ew, ew…
the sun will rise again --- END ---
